Whats your Cell Phone and Service Provider?

Actually, you’re right. It’s the other way around. However, the Android accessory market is on the rise (a lot of case companies are now making cases for the Galaxy phones as well).

But it’s still worthless to compare accessories because I’m not going to be happy with a crappy iPhone with an epic case, whereas I’ll be more than happy with a powerful Android with no case.

Same for anyone. Would you be pleased with a crappy phone with a wide selection of cases when there’s a much better phone that has one or two available cases?

Ahh…but the iPhone isn’t a crappy phone :]

I’m not a “Ride or Die” Apple lover, but I do like my iPhone. I like the organization. I like the look of the layout. I like the apps. I like Safari. I like being able to have my music on my phone. I like having everything synced. There are things I don’t like about android. Like their layout. Their apps. The organization. People like different things. And cases and accessories are a key factor.

It isn’t physically strong though! You drop an iPhone you’re screwed. I have dropped my Droid on concrete 5 feet below and it’s FINE and you can get all of the cases for a droid that you can an iPhone, for example I have the Stitch Case

Bah, come on. The layout is nearly identical on both phones (only difference is that on Android, you can remove whatever apps you don’t want cluttering it from the home screen and add widgets, which show you content without opening apps). Safari point taken, but Android has Chrome. Android can store your music as well. Everything can be synced through Google, which you take with you to the desktop as well–contacts, emails, eeeeeeeverything. iCloud is very limited in this.

What I don’t like about Apple is the fact that I can’t get rid of certain apps on the home screen, the fact that they stole the slide-down menu, and the screen. Every Android phone offers a superior screen.

Also, the hardware on the iPhone sucks. Objectively, I mean. Many Android phones kill it in speed and graphics.

Also, Siri is terrible. Google Now destroyed it in a side-by-side comparison.

LIES!!!

I have dropped my iPhone on the cement with nothing but a flimsy plastic case that only covers the back countless times and my baby is going strong. I probably drop it on the cement once a week. (I’m working ok it, though :/)

I’m not talking about those type of cases, Jazzii. I mean the decorated ones. The skins. The screen customizers.

I don’t care for Siri. Apple Maps told me Taco Bell was on the right side of the road when in reality it was on the other side of a eight lane street. They split with YouTube so now that apps sucks.

Apple is a comfort and my experience with my past android was horrible. Poor battery life. Froze. Died for no reason. Apps sucked. Slow. Meh.

I’ll stick with my iPhone…maybe jailbreak.

I have an otterbox. I’m with Niquii on this one. I’ve had an iPhone since I was 14 (so 4 years now). The only time I’ve ever gotten a new phone was just to have an updated version. I’ve never had an iPhone die on me. I’ve never cracked the screen either and it’s literally been thrown on the floor (courtesy of my little sister). I’ve dropped it in a bowl of milk once too. If you protect it, it’ll last.

I used my friend’s andriod once and hated it. Like Niquii said, it’s about preference. Some people iPhone’s layout, apps, etc, while others like the android’s.

We got a tablet by android once, and it was nothing compared to the iPad. It was so slow and uncooperative

IF you have a case! I’m referring to the fact that I have dropped my droid WITHOUT a case AT ALL with no damage. And I guess you guys are lucky b/c everyone I know- a few people actually lol- have guarded their phones like their babies & they’ve died, a friend of mine has had it happen twice.

And sorry for the confusion Niquii

And Rachel What kind of tablet did you get? was it one on Par with Apple’s pricing? My Grandma had an Android Tablet which SUCKED major- well you know- but it was like 100, so I couldn’t expect much. Speaking of tablets; I think that’s what I’ll be getting for college instead of a laptop… & I think we should take this to the HS 2013 thread- we’ve kind of disrupted the purpose of this…lol

1Rachel how much was your tablet?

If you got an 100$ expecting it to be better than ipad then of course youll be disappointed

I would never buy a Samsung product!

^^^ ummm, surely that’s sarcasm lmao

I have the iPhone 5 and I like it a lot. Then again it is my first smart phone so I don’t really understand what makes it inferior to Android stuff.

Well I have a slight bias because I hate Apple to begin with, but let me speak objectively.

Everybody who has claimed to have owned an Android in the past which sucked: you are all being completely ridiculous.

Just like iOS, Android has updates. If you guys used the first version of iOS again right now, you would hate it, I’m sure of this.

The newest Android OS update (4.2, codename Jelly Bean) is blazing fast. The new phones that carry it have amazing specs. You can’t just permanently judge an OS from something you tried two years ago. Things develop and improve over time.

Go look up a Siri vs. Google Now video. The speed difference will blow you away.

And I get the issue of preference. But they are virtually the same in layout. Both have a dock at the bottom of a screen with up to five or six icons, and a home screen that you rearrange, PLUS a slide down menu. The ONLY difference in screen layout with an android is that the home screen doesn’t have to include all your apps, and the entire concept of widgets–content that you don’t need to start an app for. Want the weather? Just unlock your phone. With an iPhone, you have to unlock and then slide down the top menu for the weather. Just saying.

Usability is improved in the new version of Android. I suggest you all try it.

I’m upset with Apple for not keeping up with their innovative streak. The iPhone 5 brought nothing new to the table, just copied its competitors, and did that even unsuccessfully. It’s a year late for 4g and the screen still doesn’t live up to the competition. The only reason to get an iPhone 5 would be to stay in the Apple ecosystem, which is a bad idea anyways, since their iCloud storage is totally limited compared to Google’s sync service and Google Drive.

If you have a Gmail, you already involuntarily in Google’s ecosystem. Not to mention Apple is just overpriced.

But I will let you all use whatever you prefer. I have a strong preference for Android because of big screens, powerful hardware, and Google.

Apple is inching out of the spotlight because they just aren’t making good products anymore. iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and Maps, for example.

Oh, and I don’t appreciate them suing left and right when they themselves steal ideas just as much. But that’s my hatred of Apple coming in again.

Objectively, though, Android phones are improving rapidly, and the iPhone 5 is behind on the new technologies. It doesn’t even have NFC (near field communication), which many new Androids do. It allows you to swipe your phone at cash registers to pay for stuff, for example. That’s just one application of it–look it up for more examples.

But again, preference is preference. But just because you have an opinion doesn’t make it right. :D

iPhone 5 - AT&T

Samsung flip - T-Mobile

Wow I said that the iPhone were inferior and I got people debating lmao. Anyway I say that Android is to iOS not iPhones, that is to an Android phone. The difference in apps is nearly gone. Android caught up. Galaxy s3 is now consider to be the best phone. And it’s powered by google. Apple had peaked. They are starting to lose the computer market and the phone market. But the iPhone is not by any mean crappy or stupid. It was made for simple user while those people who said that the Android sucked and they owned simply couldn’t figure out how to effectively use the Android system.
