Well I have a slight bias because I hate Apple to begin with, but let me speak objectively.

Everybody who has claimed to have owned an Android in the past which sucked: you are all being completely ridiculous.

Just like iOS, Android has updates. If you guys used the first version of iOS again right now, you would hate it, I’m sure of this.

The newest Android OS update (4.2, codename Jelly Bean) is blazing fast. The new phones that carry it have amazing specs. You can’t just permanently judge an OS from something you tried two years ago. Things develop and improve over time.

Go look up a Siri vs. Google Now video. The speed difference will blow you away.

And I get the issue of preference. But they are virtually the same in layout. Both have a dock at the bottom of a screen with up to five or six icons, and a home screen that you rearrange, PLUS a slide down menu. The ONLY difference in screen layout with an android is that the home screen doesn’t have to include all your apps, and the entire concept of widgets–content that you don’t need to start an app for. Want the weather? Just unlock your phone. With an iPhone, you have to unlock and then slide down the top menu for the weather. Just saying.

Usability is improved in the new version of Android. I suggest you all try it.

I’m upset with Apple for not keeping up with their innovative streak. The iPhone 5 brought nothing new to the table, just copied its competitors, and did that even unsuccessfully. It’s a year late for 4g and the screen still doesn’t live up to the competition. The only reason to get an iPhone 5 would be to stay in the Apple ecosystem, which is a bad idea anyways, since their iCloud storage is totally limited compared to Google’s sync service and Google Drive.

If you have a Gmail, you already involuntarily in Google’s ecosystem. Not to mention Apple is just overpriced.

But I will let you all use whatever you prefer. I have a strong preference for Android because of big screens, powerful hardware, and Google.

Apple is inching out of the spotlight because they just aren’t making good products anymore. iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and Maps, for example.

Oh, and I don’t appreciate them suing left and right when they themselves steal ideas just as much. But that’s my hatred of Apple coming in again.

Objectively, though, Android phones are improving rapidly, and the iPhone 5 is behind on the new technologies. It doesn’t even have NFC (near field communication), which many new Androids do. It allows you to swipe your phone at cash registers to pay for stuff, for example. That’s just one application of it–look it up for more examples.

But again, preference is preference. But just because you have an opinion doesn’t make it right. :D
