I'm pretty sure we don't have one of these for fall '08 yet. Instead of people making a bunch of separate posts giving their schedules for fall term, I'd like to hear what everyone's taking on one thread. These are always interesting threads to read (in my opinion, anyway).

Please list your grade level, major(s)/minor(s), your school's calendar system, classes, number of credits, and times/days.

For Me:

Not sure if I'm getting credit for my research assistant position, which is tied in with my senior thesis. I'm not particularly happy about having two afternoon classes MWF...

Rising sophomore
Civil Engineering major, math minor
Semester system

Classes:

General Physics (Electricity and Magnetism) (4) (TR 2-3:15, M 2-2:50, R 3:30-5:15)

now, if class B is from 10:00 to 12:00 on the same days as Class A, then how would I possibly take it? After class A ends, I'd need at least 10-15 mins or so to make my way to class B.

I'm asking this with reference to Lumine's schedule; Chamber Choir from 12-2 and Music of Western Choir from 2-4? are the classrooms right next to each other or something?

not trying to poke holes in anything but if that kind of schedule is possible then thats a great thing for me! :D

Neat schedule there kelseyg, why are each of your classes 5 units?
[/quote]

Thanks! Quarter system - that's how it works here. Instead of taking a lot of short classes for half a year, you take a few long classes for a third of the year. The average quarter course load is 15 credits, 20 is max.

You think that's bad? My INTRODUCTORY material science class was 3 units for 3 hours of lecture a week, a 3 hour lab (with 15 page write-ups), and weekly homework sets.

It's really not that bad. I took it freshman year but dropped due to outside circumstances, but it was 3 hours of lecture per week and the labs rarely went over 2 hours even though they were scheduled for 3. We had a few formal lab write-ups, an informal lab write-up if we didn't have a formal one, and homework assignments every week.

I'm a rising sophomore. Government major, studio art minor.

Comparative Politics; MWF 10:00 to 11:05 Human Biology; MWF 11:15 to 12:20 Photography I; TuTh 10:00 to 11:50 Foreign Policy Decision Making; TuTh 14:00 to 15:50

My school is on the quarter system, and a normal course load is three courses per term -- but I've done photography before, and I'm using an NRO* for the biology class, so I think I'll manage.

*Non-recording option; you decide on a grade limit at the beginning of term, and if you get a grade below the limit but still passing, it shows up as a "pass" on the transcript and is not included in the GPA. If you get a grade above the limit, it's included on the transcript and in the GPA.
