^^ Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, LOTR, and The Matrix are the only ones on the list that I’ve seen. I like adventure movies. I can get social drama in real life.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

Lord of the Rings trilogy, Star Wars saga, The Matrix, The Social Network…

A Walk To Remember
Forrest Gump
12 Rounds
Taken
Finding Nemo
While You Were Sleeping
Raise Your Voice
Edward Scissorhands
The House Bunny
Legally Blonde
Grease
The Ultimate Christmas Present
I Am Legend
Gran Torino

I’ll be honest… 500 days of summer, boys in the hood, and kids (larry clark), and some others.

Donnie Darko
AI
District 9
Collateral

god damn it

god damn it → ?

american beauty x13981940123. i can watch it over and over again. first time i watched it was in 1999 and i was about 5 or 6. my first impression was the shock over nudity in film. hehe. year after year, the movie got better and better (assuming i understood it more along age).

other favorites: half nelson, i am sam, life as a house, two days in paris (do not fear, it’s not 1 night in paris), shawshank redemption, the breakfast club, adaptation, trust, brokeback, moulin rouge, my best friend’s wedding.
give it a watch if you haven’t yet: elf, some like it hot, it’s a wonderful life, anything on those top 100 film lists and what not

i read critiques and follow hype (unfortunately). i hated 500 days of summer and juno. i liked scott pilgrim vs the world. i love the toy story series.

jeepers creepers, devil, and legion were hilarious.

I just watched Breakfast Club. It had the worst ending ever.

what did you expect

A non-**** ending from a movie that everyone here praises.

Edit: Sorry, were you asking what sort of ending I was expecting?

Slumdog Millionaire
Crash
Inception
It’s a Wonderful Life
Juno
An Education
The Hurt Locker

I didn’t really like the short story Breakfast at Tiffany’s however I found the Audrey Hepburn movie cute and liked it better. So I guess that’s an example of the movie being better than the novel(la), at least for me.

The Audrey Hepburn one was ok. The song Breakfast at Tiffanys I like a lot too lol
And The Blind Side was a really good movie too!!!

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind…I also really love Almost Famous.

hero (with zhang ziyi) and aftershock. both great films. they’re both in chinese though, but the subtitles should be fine. i always end up half reading the subtitles when i watch chinese films just to double check my understanding. i prefer chinese films with both chinese subtitles and english subtitles lol… because sometimes the english translation is off and if i didn’t understand what the actor said i can’t like make sure

I agree that …
The Matrix
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Edward Scissorhands
Finding Nemo
My Best Friend’s wedding
Slumdog Millionare
Juno
An Education
The Blind Side
Saving Private Ryan

are all really good movies as well. I think eventually though I’ll get around to watching Inception to see what all the hype is about.

Comedy: hands down Mean Girls
Crime: The Departed
Tearjerkers: House of Sand and Fog, Life is Beautiful, Forrest Gump, The Notebook, Saving Private Ryan
Fantasy: Toy Story, Up, Pan’s Labyrinth, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Wall-E
Random others: Inglourious Basterds, Seven, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American Beauty, Kill Bill, The Princess Bride

I love all these movies, especially the tearjerkers. I guess I just like to let go of my emotions.

Ohhhh, almost forgot Garden State!

pokemon: the movie.
Mewtwo was badass.

^ I’ll admit I too am a fan of the pokemon movies although just the earlier ones I saw when I was younger.

I’m adding Back to the Future to my list of good movies, I just saw the entire trilogy yesterday.
