<p>In my opinion, it leaves it open ended. If it is something that you heard on the radio, or something your friend said, or a famous one, whatever you want.</p>
<p>Yeah! You can make just as strong a case for a lesser known quote as you can for a famous one. Chances are however, that many people will have chosen the famous quotes, so it would probably be in one's best interest to write about something that not everyone else will choose. That way, one has a better chance of making it unique - of molding it into one's own personal circumstances (and not sounding like thousands, if not tens of thousands of other applicants). I don't know who else is choosing a saint to quote. My St. Augustine quote speaks to the true essence of my beliefs. Pick something that speaks to your own beliefs or philosophies - not just something you surmise the adcoms would like to hear! ....My two cents :)</p>
