what's your favourite quote?

hey, there's one question on the supplement that asks what your fav. quote and why?
Anyways, I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite quotes are...so if you don't mind, can each of you post yours?
Mine is "Personally I'm always ready to learn, although I do not always like being taught." - Winston Churchill

"To quote is an inadaquet substitute for wit" - not sure who

It actually goes, "She had a pretty gift for quotation, which is a serviceable substitute for wit." (W. Somerset Maugham, attributed)

haha, I hope ya'll aren't using the same quote for the essay! I'll tell mine after I submit

I think I'm doing a quote by Henry David Thoreau.

are u relating why it's ur favorite quote to ur own life or what

Better safe than sorry ... after all it is CC and you never know what sort of dodgy person is lurking.

i guess..or my personality and stuff..

Here's one...

"Never let your sense of morals prevent you from doing what's right."-Asimov

BTW, I'm not applying to Princeton, so feel free to use it.

Kingsfan, the prompt is, "What is your favorite quote and why?"

hmmm...: )

mine was about laughter : D...

life : )

I hate Thoreau.

I used one by Leonardo da Vinci: "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return." Then again I want to become a test pilot for learjet or boeing or something. seemed appropriate

My quotation... "Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it." by P.J. O'Rourke...

No, seriously it was something else. "To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world." I wrote my essay on it. There was a story.

Hmm.. I've heard of that quote before (jacquesier). One of my friends wrote about it for a Latin assignment (a similar quote, only in Latin). Just thought that was interesting.
I'm quoting St. Augustine. I'll probably post after I submit my application. Good luck to everyone!! :)

Yeh, it's a good quote too. But, it may raise a few eyebrows. Then again you want to stand out, don't you?

i'm not doing the quote essay...im doing the person who has influenced u supple. essay!

Hey, that da Vinci one's in Civ4!

I used, "Silence is an attribute of the dead; he who is alive speaks."

Alex and armavirumque, I love the quote! :)

"college apps suck" -Me
