<p>I’m an actual firangi. Just got my gf a US visa so she can come back for a visit with me. Yay!</p>

<p>I love the idea of the Indian nation, and the ideal the Indian government represents–a secular, multicultural, multilingual liberal democracy. India to me represents the hope of the peoples of this small world sharing its bounties in peace.</p>

<p>What I hate is the loathsome politicians and bureaucrats who betray this great ideal with their shameful corruption, xenophobia, nepotism, communalism-baiting, sectarianism, and corruption on a scale so big it requires me to mention it twice in this sentence.</p>

<p>Oh, and I also hate Prakash Karat, but I imagine just about every other American would if they ever had the displeasure of hearing about him ;)</p>

<p>Who, pray tell, is hating on India itself, and where can I go to school them? :D</p>

<p>To me the dream team of Indian government would be Nehru raised from the dead as PM and Manmohan Singh as FM, and Karats and Mayawatis and Karunanidhis as far away from the levers of state power as possible</p>
