Cuisine from your Homeland

I'm surprised we havn't yet had a thread like this. Afterall, we do live to eat. :D

So whats your favourite dish from your home-country...
Here goes...
definitely, Malai Koftas, Butter Chicken and Butter smothered Kulchas.

PS: Has nothing to do with admissions, but I guess its a welcome change.

Kakori kebabs, Butter Chicken (sinfully unhealthy) and Chindian food (you know, the so-called cheap 'Chinese' food that is available in India)

Fried Momos, Chicken Butter Masala and Butter Kulchas, Chilly chicken with lemon-tamarind-chilly sauce :D

in a more regular food: Parantha and Chicken curry...

I beg to differ: I eat to live; and all good men and women do the same:D
but, agreed, welcome change though!

arjun, can you get some of these dishes in Ithica? At Berkeley, there are at least 2-3 places that make great butter chicken and lots of good chaat restaurants.

Supposedly, there are some really good Indian restaurants at Ithaca, especially CollegeTown.

wel true even i heard in ithaca they serve some awesome indian cuisine .. well its a damnn wonderful place to be in .. a beautiful place most importantly the sharply differs with the huub and pub of mainland USA

What's in the name?

None. I come from Ireland and as you know there aren't many Irish restaurants around the world. There is a good reason for this.

hot pepper fried white pepper

almost my favorite dish, definately the most identifiable

Why did you start this thread?? Makes me miss the indian food soo bad!!
Anyways, my fav dish has to be pav bhaji (miss it so much), sev puri and other chaats and gujju food

Come to think of it, I havent seen an Irish restaurant at all. Why? I'm sure you guys have dishes unique to Ireland?

We call it Guinness. LOL.

Hahaha.
Actually, its not that bad. The world looks better when you are tanked up on them.

Cornell serves some of the best food on Earth. :)

And I am surprised how come nobody mentions anything about Malaysia...

Arh here it goes... Nasi Lemak with the hot sambal chilli, Durian, Chicken Rice, Dumplings, Nasi Briyani with the nice chicken, Penang's Assam Laksa (OMGOMG... this is classic), Dou Sa Pia (Red bean cookies), Roti Channai, Thosai Masala :), Fishball noodles...

Oh no, I think I am such a glutton and a sloth. :D
