3 credits in social studies, which are world history, us history, and economics/us government (0.5 credits each)
8 credits in electives
1 credit in fine arts
1 online class credit
To create a total of 24 credits required to graduate.

3 credits in Science (two in a laboratory science)
3 credits in Social Studies (world, American, and gov/econ)
6 credits in electives
1 credit in fine arts
1 credit in physical education
22 total credits needed for graduation (0.5 of which must be online in any of the areas above)
4 years English
4 years math, including Algebras 1 and 2 and Geometry (must be in math throughout high school)
3 years lab science to include biology, chemistry or physics, and an additional lab science
3 years history and social studies; 1 credit world history and geography, 1 credit USH (to be taken as a junior), 0.5 credits Economics, and 0.5 credits of Government (Econ and Gov to be taken as a senior)

1 year fine or performing art
1.5 years PE
0.5 years Personal Finance
3 credits elective focus (CTE, Science and Math, Humanities, AP/IB, JROTC)
22 credits. Most people take 6 classes per semester, leaving just 2 spaces for extra electives.
Requirements I’ve filled:
Foreign Language
Fine or Performing Art
4 years of English
4 years of History
3 years of Math
3 years of Science
3 years of Foreign Language
2 years of an art elective
2 years of “independent” PE (you have to do some form of exercise off campus every week and get your coach/trainer/whatever to sign it)
We also need 60 community service hours, but that’s very poorly enforced.
My high school’s requirements were as follows (if I remember correctly):
4 years English
4 years math (should have completed pre-calc, but many students go beyond)
3 years science
3 years social science, including 1 year US and 1 year world history
2 years fine arts
2 years foreign language
1 year PE
3 electives
4 credits English
4 credits math
3 credits science (biology; earth/environmental; chemistry or physics)
4 credits social studies (world history; civics and economics; US History 1+2)
1 credit Health/Phys Ed
1 credit Arts
4 credits “Concentration” in courses that do not meet other graduation requirements (AP courses; AVID; ESL; Career & Technical; College Courses; JROTC; Sports Medicine; Arts; World Language; English, Math, Science, or Social Studies)
7 additional elective credits
2 credits same foreign language not required for graduation, but required for admission to UNC system, so most people do it
All he needs is AP English 4 and US History 1
typical school year is 4 classes in Fall, 4 classes in Spring – although he is taking most classes at CC now. i don’t think he’s set foot in HS since December, except to take AP exams.
4 English
3 Math (algebra 1, geometry, and 1 “higher math”)
3 Social studies (world history, us history, cwa + civics)
3 Science (including Bio)
1 Fine or preforming arts
1 carrier and technical
1.5 PE
.5 Health
5 electives
22 credits to graduate
(Plus .5 credits of Washington state history taken in middle school)
3.5 years Social studies (35 credits)
4 years English (40 credits)
2 years Math- need to pass algebra 1 as “minimum” (20 credits)
2 years Lab Science- 1 physical science, 1 life science (20 credits)
1 semester Health (5 credits)
2 years PE- 1 yr freshman PE 1 yr other or you can take “independent study PE” if you do a school sport (20 credits)
Electives (80 credits)
and this is the confusing part: you need to take 2 years (20 credits) of world language, visual/ performing arts, or career tech/applied arts but it needs to be from 2 different categories
for example- 1 year french and 1 year ceramics
Total 240 credits to graduate
Most people just follow the a-g requirements for UC/CSU + PE and health
At my public school, you have the option to specialize in business, technology, or culinary arts, which has separate requirements. Anyway, the normal graduation requirements are as follows:

We have four different diplomas. I believe with the class of 2020, they’re cutting it down to three and adding required community service. They’re the IB Diploma, regular honors diploma, college prep diploma, and a standard one. Variations are in the required number of honors classes and years of foreign language, mostly.
