<p>I was looking on here and didn't see a thread for this, so I thought it'd be nice to see what everybody was planning to do and where to get some discussion going on here.</p>
<p>I'll start:</p>
<p>I plan on double majoring in Kinesiology and Marketing* (*subject to change) at Central Michigan and am headed there this fall more than likely. I'm passionate about sports and want to work in that industry in the front office or as a coach or trainer, but I also want to start a business of some sort in the entertainment field (TV, film, video games, etc). I always wanted to help write/develop a tv show, movie, or video game and like to be creative, tell stories, and come up with new ideas...</p>
<p>Majoring in Chicano / Latino studies and double minoring in Spanish and another minor…depends on the school if I double minor…or minor at all lol, pre-law. Going to law school for public interest. :)</p>
<p>I want to help people of color, particularly…ahem, latinos!</p>
<p>I’m so confused on what I want to major in and what I want to be =/</p>
<p>I mean I’m stuck between two choices </p>
<p>Doctor…or Lawyer. </p>
<p>if I am going to be a doctor I want to take Neuroscience at USC or if I go to UCLA biopsychology. And be on the PreMed track for courses then go to ucla med school And become a success ful doctor then entrepreneur and own hotels restaurants and an amusement parks and richer thsn donald trump =) </p>
<p>But if I am going to be a Lawyer I would only study psych and then go to law school. But the ending part would be the same.</p>
<p>I’d like to major in chemistry and physics but as to what I’ll do after I’m still unsure. I’d either like to get an MD/PhD and do medical research, try going into chemical engineering in grad school (my college doesnt have chem e), or maybe alternative energy research and try encouraging its use in developing countries (mostly the Caribbean since that’s where my parents are from and I love the place! lol). The last one sounds most interesting to me because I love to travel and I think it’d be amazing to be doing scientific research and simultaneously helping people :)</p>
<p>Oh! And at college I want to learn at least two more languages. I’m pretty good with Spanish but want to pick up mandarin and something else. For some reason swahili is calling me because I’ve always thought it would be cool to say I know swahili :)</p>
<p>@Loveispeac3 I feel you about being confused, but my confusion is for a different reason. I think I can do a lot of different jobs well, but my primary passion revolves around sports, dance, and movement in general. The small problem with that is that the field doesn’t necessarily lead to a high-paying career and while it can, it takes a nice amount of time. That’s why I kinda want to double major with the second major being something versatile that I could land a good job with if I don’t get what I want initially out of my Kinesiology major. Finding that balance between trying to study something that I would enjoy, and something that would be more likely to pay well is what has me torn. I like your ambition with the entrepreneurship and the “richer than Trump” tho. What field could you see yourself starting a business in?</p>
<p>@arsenalcrazy Idk about the language thing in college. I took spanish for 4 years in high school but I’m far from fluent. I might Rosetta Stone it out, but I don’t think I wanna take it in college and put that stress on myself. I like to travel too. Traveling and spending an extended amount of time in a spanish speaking country/area is an option for me too somwhere down the line.</p>

<p>But as a doctor, I might be a pediatrician or surgeon.</p>
<p>I mean I’m still deciding and I have time, but I like to have my options a little laid out=) </p>

I’m pretty sure there can be a career for that. Or something close to it.
Oh and I your passion to do entertainment. I want to do something like that too. Like write a show and direct it. Thats dream of mine=)</p>
<p>Maybe you getting into entertainment can help you with your other passions…but I’m not sure so don’t hold me to it. lmao.</p>

<p>^^^Yea, there are a lot of careers in that area but I don’t want to go all in for Kinesiology. It takes time to build up a repuatation as one of the better trainers, choreograhpers, coaches, etc, and I think it’d be best to have a solid backup plan to that to ensure financial stability while I work at my passion. </p>
<p>And I really have always wanted to do a TV show or movie. Comedy, action, drama… it doesn’t even matter. I love the field of entertainment, and love creative, entertaining new ideas.</p>
<p>Why do you wanna be a doctor though? Is it because you like the money in the field, or do you have a passion for doctor-ish stuff? lol. My cousin went to Michigan with doctor on her mind, and after a semester she was done with it. And I hope you can cook or you know people who can cook if you have plans to start a restaurant… lol</p>
<p>^ Lol. Duh I can cook! I love cooking. Its a hobby. But I don’t think people would start a restaurant if they didn’t know how to cook or have some idea about it. lol</p>
<p>But I wanted to be a doctor cause its a reliable field and it will be around for a while. I find the human body interesting , and helping others get better is cool too. </p>
<p>I know people say" don’t do it for the money", but really I mean people wouldn’t even consider doctor if it wasnt a good job right?
Lawyer just seems to risky. I want to go into law school, but really how quick will I get a job, and is the job reliable.</p>
<p>I mean say if I am a Lawyer, get laid off for whatever reason, then I have to start my search all over again. </p>
<p>I mean but all in all its my decision and what I feel will work out best for me.
People are different so I can’t be compared to your cousin.</p>

<p>Idk I just think languages are interesting. I loved Spanish when I learned it and my school only offers that and French (which was impossible to fit in my schedule) so I thought it would be cool to continue learning in college. Those would be kind of my de-stressing classes 
Knowing just English and some Spanish isn’t enough for me :)</p>
<p>Hopefully become a triple major (If I end up going to Wittenberg) in political science, journalism, and accounting. I want to be a politician and eventually the first female president of the united states. My back up plan is to become a political journalist or a finance lawyer. </p>
<p>If all fails, I’ll be ok because I am a part-time secretary of small tutoring business and I love it. :)</p>
<p>@Loveispeac3 Interesting. I thought about doing the lawyer thing too but idk about all that paperwork and the whole law school thing. I’m cool with the ending, but all of the stuff before it I’m not so cool with. It takes some real discipline, and idk if I could pull it off (or if I’d want to). I agree that careers in the medical field are some of the most stable careers there are.</p>
<p>And while on the topic of cooking, that is one skill I really need to work on. I’ll mess up some instant potatoes at this point. lol. Not good.</p>

<p>Planning to double major in Business Administration (Marketing) and Graphic Design . Hopefully at Washington University in St. Louis. I like the idea of being creative while “running things.” I see myself as a creative director at a marketing firm.</p>

<p>If I attend WashU, I want to major in their PNP (Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology) program; at any other school, my major would either be Neuroscience or Cognitive Science.</p>
<p>Medical School is in the stars for me, though I would love to be a specialist in the field of Neuroscience who is still able to be hands-on with patients.</p>
<p>do NOT do pre-law. there are thousands of unemployed lawyers right now. unless you have connection with law firms (other than internships) and graduate from the top 10 law schools, your chance of landing a job and making lots of money after graduation is slim. </p>
<p>@MarinebioSax: dont do any of the language/ethnic/gender studies!! just few days ago there was a story about a princeton graduate who majored in spanish and couldnt find any work. also, when you are a lawyer, you dont get to decide what cases you want to do if you want to have food at your table. lawyers tend to be miserable in life</p>
