What's your Princeton hook?

I know most people have thought long and hard about what makes them stand out, so... How special can you get???:p

Cured Cancer. No im NOT kidding. I found an organically synthesized compound that stops breast cancer cells in its tracks. Property rights being sold to Merck next week for an undisclosed amount ;)

found? how, do you have a lab you work at?

I'm modeling a supernova explosion with a computer; will have 2 papers submitted to scientific journals--I'll see how the project does in several science competitions as well...

um. i play clarinet. and I spend my free time doing absolutely nothing constructive. go figure.

Hey...even though i think this thread is intended for people who are applying to Princeton, go ahead and say what your hook was if you already are at (or were at) Princeton. So yeah...just way if you're applying or if you're already in. I am applying ED in the fall.

I know where Osama bin Laden is hiding, and I will tell Princeton where, if I am admitted.

My hook is nanoparticle research that's used in carbon-carbon (which is space shuttle heat sheilds, missile nose-cones, and aircraft skeletons)

I created an ion depolarization field that draws energy out of the air. The by product can be used to stimulate the growth factor of plants and animals in order to end world hunger. I'm also working on the way elastic tension reacts in relation to various conic sections. Expect the theorm sometime in August.

lots of science "hooks", I see

holy crap! why are you guys so amazing, with all your REAL hooks? my hook was that i survived a really tough childhood. i am nothing compared to most of you. but i got accepted Princeton 2010!

did anyone else get accepted with an "insignificant' hook? If so, what do you think got you in?

i see only 1 real hook -_-'

And what's that?

I'm heavily recruited to throw shot put =)

You are all wasting time with that book learning =P

That is sadly and partially true, since being a recruited athlete often seems to get you better HYP acceptance than research.

My hook is neither. I don't even know if it's sufficient to be a hook, but it's pretty rare: the Girl Scout Girl Award ( = to Eagle Scouts). I created and ran a week-long music camp. Nothing compared to potentially ending world hunger, but kind of cool nevertheless. (you get this binder of recognition letters from the President, a bunch of senators, and even Jeopardy hosts :))

im pythagoras...and i basically proved a thoerem everyone in the world uses...yea not to mention i sleep with admissions officers

lol i got in regular decision.... hook-less? i'm going to be the first one in my family to graduate from college which i know princeton likes but it isn't really a hook. i think it was just a combination of really good stats (perfect ACT, valedictorian, IB program) and my essays that did it for me.

I see most of you guys' hooks are sarcasm and dark humor.

That's because this site is depressing.
