I'm somewhere between popular, nerd, and loser. I guess it depends who you ask, really.

As for clothing, I wear Nike shirts, college shirts(usually made by Nike :D), and some artsy-type shirts. For pants, usually jeans. For summer, I wear shorts, since I just bought some. :)

I know I commonly use "u" instead of "you" and "tho" instead of "though" a lot when instant messaging.

I cannot write things like that. It bugs the crap out of me. Also, when textmessaging I write out full words.

As for the original topic, I'm by no means the stereotypical definition of 'preppy.' I tend to be emo-ish minus the ridiculous scene-kid look.
I'm a jeans/t-shirt kind of girl, although I have a love for some dresses. I also rock chuck all-starts at all times.
Converse = <3

I am the coolest of the nerds, the smartest of the jocks. I have a realy eccentric personality that that fits in alot of places, and no where at the same time. But I work alot, and the pressure/lack of time of jr year drove me away from the crappy social scene at MTV High. Now I hang out with a bunch of 25-45 year old waitresses.

Well, I try to stand out from the crowd. I purchase my clothes mostly from H & M and wear skinny jeans practically every day. I consider myself the quintessential hairband, flats philosophobe.

I'm "popular" in an outlandish sort of manner...through clubs and academic stuff...nothing too special. I have a natural high that many individuals appear to find immensly appealing. Haha.

Eh, well, it accounts to my laziness. I probably start out most conversations with good grammar, but dip into some bad habits after chatting with someone for like over half an hour. I also tend to text in class so it makes sense for me to use "condensed" words in my messages so I don't get caught, haha.

As for social status, I guess I'll elaborate a little more on my first post. I typically hang out with two other guys who, like me, play baseball, so we have our own little social sphere because most of what we talk about simply won't keep the attention of others. And trust me, there are people from another larger group (we just hang around their area sometimes) come to our small group only to leave a few moments later because there normally isn't a whole lot to talk about and it just gets...awkward.

As for what I wear, well, I'm mostly a shirt or sweatshirt and jean type of person. I wear my white tennis shoes most of the time, but I wear my black chucks with black/dark jeans or cargo shorts. Basically, I won't stand out in anyway, really.

People look at me funny when I wear one of my more elaborate Slayer shirts. There are much more outrageous shirts out there, such as Cannibal Corpse shirts, but I don't like most of those bands.

There are a lot of kids in my school who wear those black heavy metal shirts. It's so funny how divided my school is. You literally have all the jocks, wannabes, emos, punks, whores, and nerds in their own little groups.

^^^^my school is like that.in fact just for fun sometimes ill ask the kids, who I know for a fact don't listen to the band whose shirt their wearing, what their fav song by the band is and I usually get the same reply "oh I just got it cuz it matches my shoes" ***?!?!? Lol.on valentines day last year this preppy chick was wearing a Bullet For My Valentine shirt.noone at my school really likes them besides me.I asked he about it and I don't remeber exactly what she said but it was along the lines of it being a valentine's day shirt...BULLET for my valentine???? Idk.

Umm I guess im a nerd, star wars/harry potter/star trek geek, grade 'A' dork, swimming jock, popular, freak(im the only person with snakebites :) ).im kinda eccentric and fit in with almost everyone lol.I guess it depends who you ask about me.

Believe it or not, people DO judge you based on how you look and what you wear.

I think the whores are the funniest of all the different groups at my school, lol. It's kinda sick how much they kiss up to teachers and ALWAYS stay after class. Does this ring a bell for anybody??

Oh I forgot my clothes lol, I can go rocker to prep to jock in the course of a week lol.I usually wear flip flops or vans/chucks jeans and a band tee/polo

no, but we have the whoriest students ever at my school. No joke, one time a kid got a bj in the hallway between the locker banks before school. Another girl (ap student too, i knew her since the gifted program in middle school) got a DUI, and then her parents caught her preforming a haneous act with 3 other men. I got to a nice (large aka 4500) suburban school too.

my grade is wierd. there isnt really a cliche "popular group" or something. i mean theres a group of like 20 kids who drink a lot and act like sluts, but nobody cares about them.

then there are lots of smaller groups of people, but not really "cliques," just friend groups, and they overlap a lot, so there aren't really divisions or anything.

i don't really get what this has to do with clothes haha but I mean I buy stuff for the style, cut, and how I like it, not from where it's from. I might have like 1 abercrombie shirt, I HATE hollister, why the hell does it have to be so dark in there. AE usually has some decent stuff, and the denim fits well so I go there once in a while. Mostly H&M, Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, F21, Delias, Target, and such though.

I forgot to mention the fat girls group. You know, those girls who wear clothes that are two sizes too small for them and expect to get something out of guys by "sweet talking" them (see Sucker for love thread). I actually think it's hilarious.

then there are lots of smaller groups of people, but not really "cliques," just friend groups, and they overlap a lot, so there aren't really divisions or anything.
Same at my school! Except there are a lot more than twenty people who drink and brag about drinking, and they do generally get attention.

I'm in a pretty nerdy group in that most of us have 4.0s and take hard classes and care about school. The overwhelming majority of my group of friends is Asian (I'm white.) Of course, groups overlap, and I have plenty of friends from other general groups, but my main group is fairly academic. "Nerdy" has the connotation of being made fun of, though, and we're not -- smart kids don't really get made fun of at my school.

People might consider me personally sort of goth/alternative/whatever since I wore dark colors more often than not in middle school and 9th grade, and I wear metal shirts often (Cannibal Corpse, Megadeth, and Opeth most often :)), but nowadays I'll wear anything... I don't own anything with a brand name plastered across the front, but I have a lot of preppy-ish clothes that I think are cute.
