If you divided your school into social cliques, what would you call them?

And which one would you be in?

My answer:
The popular kids, and me.

Drama kids. And also choir kids. Both of them have a few crossovers but I’m the only one that spends an ample amount of time with both groups.

As far as my school itself, there aren’t really obvious social divisions. Out of the 600 or so Seniors, it’s divided into the 100-150 AP kids and then the regular kids who typically don’t hang out with the AP kids (I do have some friends in regular classes but not very many if I’m being totally honest). There is the large broad group of the popular kids, divided into kids who party and kids who don’t. Kids who don’t are usually AP, though you can find some AP kids that party too. Then there is a specific group of “Lit Maggots” who run our school’s literary magazine. They only hang out with each other. I don’t know about the regular kids but the majority of us, besides popular kids and lit maggots, just float around to wherever we land. Our school is super chill.

Football players and everyone else.

My school is EXTREMELY cliquish. There’s the basketball kids, the potheads, the nerds, the drama kids, and then me (the “hipster”)

The FOB asians, the gangster wannabe asians, the REAL gangsters, the smart people (me), the skaters, the make-up laden/upper-middle class/dress like hooker girls, the russians, the emo/goth/generally weird kids, the hipster wannabes, the band/drama kids, and everyone else.

The stoners, hipsters, weeabos, bandos (me I guess), elitists (a.k.a. Top 25), loners, jocks, rednecks…am I missing any? Those are pretty much all I can think of at my school. Some people fit within two categories…

Edit: Oh, and the New Yorkers…

Stoners
The “populars”
Athletes
Fobs
Asians
Normal white people
Anti social white people

By gender:
Males: everyone is together, no cliques (me)
Females: hookers, skaters, athletes, smart ones, hot ones, snobby ones, and many others

the elites, the trackies (me), the soccer jocks,
the dorks (the people that are nerdy, but not in AP at math and science classes), the

nerds (the people who are nerdy and in AP math and science (me again)),

the dumb popular kids (the popular kids who suck at all subjects and they are popular for being hot),

the smart popular kids [the popular kids that go to all parties, but they take 4 AP’s a year (which is a lot in my school) and still end up with a 4.2/4.6 GPA

freshmen
ROTC guys
preps
J.V. jocks
Asian nerds
Cool Asians
Varsity jocks
Unfriendly black hotties
Girls who eat their feelings
Girls who don’t eat anything
Desperate wannabes
Burnouts
Sexually active band geeks,
the greatest people you will ever meet
and the worst: Beware of plastics.

^ Mean Girls. You win.

People who suck and people who don’t.

My school is unique in the sense that even with all of the cliques, the majority of them aren’t snobby. Like our school’s best tennis player this year is a drama kid, and we have a football player and a few cheerleaders in drama, as well. The only cliques are smaller groups of people who hang out all together, but they aren’t a certain stereotype and generally are made up of a lot of different people.

The “jocks” are a big group, and then pretty much everyone else. Most people don’t fit into just one group. A friend of mine last year was on the football team, hung out with the group of stoners and kids who party that are actually smart, and was in drama. As much as I dislike my school, it’s a pretty accepting place.

Ours was really musically segregated. There was:

a) Orchestra kids
b) Band kids
c) Choir kids

But then of course there were sport cliques:
d) Track kids
e) Tennis kids

I can’t think of anymore well-defined cliques. But there were a lot more well-defined groups that I wouldn’t really bother characterizing although it might be somewhat fun :)

I was sort of a floater.

Boys: Jocks, Stoners, Loners, Thugs, Wiggas, Emo, Country, “Cool” or whatever you wanna call em

Gals: Nerdy, All-Arounder (smart, hot, nice, not a whore), Preps, Sluts, Emo, Black-White Girls (white girls that act ghetto, or what these people like to call “black” even though you cant act a race…)

Cliques:
Athletes
Cheerleaders
Marching Band
ROTC
Potheads
Theater/Drama/Poetry
LGBT
Smart ones
Everyone else

Athletes and cheerleaders hang out, band and ROTC often hang out, LGBT and theater/drama/poetry hang out, potheads are their own, everyone else is just everyone else. Smart ones are often among the other groups. I’m in the band and smart ones group.

Choir kids
Football players
Cheerleaders
Theater kids
Band kids
ROTC kids
Kids who still think being “scene” is cool
Kids who think “raving” is cool
Super gangster Mexicans
Wannabe gangster Mexicans
Cholas
Black people
Crazy party kids
Crazy sluts
Stoners
Mexican cowboys
Socially awkward shy smart kids
