When a top premed school isn't an option

For financial reasons as well as location, attending a top "premed school" is not really an option for me. If I choose to attend a State school, or a liberal arts college that I can afford, and I maintain a high GPA and score well on my MCAT, will I be considered by a top Medical school

Also, if I have to choose between a LAC and a state school (given that I like them equally) which one will better prepare me for med school, and which one will boost my chances of being accepted into a med school??

I am sorry if these questions have been asked before (I am sure they have), but I have read through a lot of the posts and I am just not sure what I should do

Thanks in advance
