I’m sorry but I find this hard to believe unless SLO wants more out of states because they pay more. Both the GPA and the SAT score, as well as having no AP classes seems suspect to me. Plus, I though people said Cal Poly SLO does not release admissions on weekends.

Congratulations!! Is cal poly your number one?
I have been checking…obsessively almost, but no determination yet. I applied on 11/15, so I’m hoping the delay is only because I didn’t turn it in earlier.

Closetobroke-whatever brah. it’s legit. i called the admissions office today to confirm my offer. i checked and saw my offer sunday, they my have had it on there earlier, idk.

rhythmia- thanks! it is my number one. i got into iowa state and montana state too, but this is by far the best academically. I turned mine in on the first day that the application was open…maybe that had something to do with it.

Hey Guys! i know this may not be the place for this, but i’m new on here and this seems to be the most active thread,

i just wanted to know if i should continue to be hopeful in my Cal Poly SLO admission,

i applied to the Orfalea School of Business,
Business Admin Major, (i want an emphasis in Entrepreneurship)

i am in state (california)
i applied with a 3.42-3.58 GPA somewhere in there.
and an SAT of 1790, with math and critical reading being 600 each.
im taking two AP’s this year, my only two but i have taken 15 college units at city college over the summers.

i am first gen. college, and i am a minority (cuban) and i am low income (+ or -?)
i have the block schedule in high school and have never taken an off period, so i will graduate with nearly 350 h.s. credits

i have tons of E.C.'s (taken 3 different band classes, all for 4 full years and i become the drum major(conductor and bandleader of the marching band) ; a Business/Econ class for 2 full years in addition to regular h.s. econ; a voice class for two years, and some more, one year stuff)

247 hours of community service.

i think that’s all that need to be said… ask me anything more in case i have missed something but i’m just curious as to what everyone things about my chances, thanks in advance!!

I don’t think extracurriculars make a large difference because on the application it only asked for hours per week of activities and there was nowhere to explain yours or anything, which was kind of lame. So I’m pretty sure it’s all based on scores. For a good idea of your chance you should look where your scores place in the cal poly average accepted scores for the business school. I’m pretty sure that’s on their website somewhere. I think.

Okay Zanderson. I’m sorry. Can’t argue with the Admissions Office. Congratulations to you! Especially since it is your first choice. Happy for you.
