When are grades posted, or is there a deadline when professors have to submit their grades? I have two grades yet to be posted, but I tihnk the final should have been graded by now ..

Are the professors conferring with other TAs about the grade? Or what's taking so long ?

Not necessarily -- my CS M51A final grade wasn't posted until the beginning of Winter quarter, because the professor couldn't figure out how to use the MyUCLA Gradebook.

i've actually had some professors not post the grades on MyUCLA... all they did was submit them to URSA and then a day or two later the grades showed up on MyUCLA...

lol i love how you guys are all anxious for grades. I don't think I'll even check until a few weeks into winter quarter. im so not curious at all.

why not allie??? GRADES = MONEY??? no i know college grades arent that importnat except for med/law schoo, right/?? as lon as you get a 3.0-3.3 you're in good shape otehrwise ??

And yes, and yes. But seriously, its work experience that's going to get you a job. High GPAs are impressive, but if it doesn't mean a whole lot if you try to get into an office without any skills to offer.

Grades are important for grad school, depending on where you want to go. But for professional schools (business, especially;law depends on where; not so much medical), I'd maintain that work experience is MUCH more important than grades in the long run. Especially if you intend to work for a while before applying.

Dude, that is my biggest complaint about this school.

Seriously. That one factor has singlehandedly brought my gpa down by about .3, which is ridiculous. Especially because a LOT of professors tend to hand out A-s instead of As in general. It sucks.

i hear you already... i just got my first grade back and sure enough..
what do you think of minimum wage work experience? it needs to be high level hollywood internships like yours correct?

lol mine's not very high level. im at work right now and my project today consists of like google and excel lists. Terribly fancy stuff, that.

But yeah, any work experience is good. Obviously as you get a better idea about what you want to do you'll want to try to get work in the field. It's less about pay (obviously, since most internships are unpaid) and more about the weight of the work. 2 years as a server or something is great for showing commitment, but it won't give you a lot of practical business skills (at least for an office job). so yeah. if you want to get a job at ackerman or something, go for it. but also go for internships (paid or unpaid) as you progress.

I think thats a mistake I see a lot, actually. A lot of people get jobs bc they need/want the money and they end up sticking with their taco bell job all through school without thinking about what they're going to do after graduation.
