Hi Whynot
She was a senior at the time.
Good luck!

Timing for me (a little bit early overall, but I think the time between each step is fairly standard):

-“Committed” beginning of September
-Submitted full application (semi-officially) for review mid-September
-Told of “likely” admission status end of September
-Received likely letter via email October 7
-Received likely letter via mail October 20ish

So, at Ivies, coaches have a certain number of ahtletes they can take within a specific AI, correct? Don’t they usually have all of those athletes in the ED round? How would they still be able to give a likely for the RD round?

The reason for all my questions…my son was going to apply ED1 to a DIII school, then changed his mind. Because of back to back injuries junior and senior year, he hasn’t had a lot of interest and we are back at square one and now probably too late to apply ED to his true first choice (Nov. 1 deadline…too late to get teacher recs now). It has been a very bad fall - surgery in October and just starting to feel back to normal.

Depends on the school and the sport, keylyme. There’s a flurry of activity now because of the Nov 1 deadline, but soon after that date would be a good time to check back in with coaches to see if all spots were taken…

Sorry about the injuries and surgery. Sounds like that’s all behind you now, which is good.

Called by admissions today…LL is on the way and should be here in physical form on Wednesday. Thanks for all the help along the way guys; I’ll do my best when I can to return the favor and contribute to this board from now on. TIGERS '15!!!

Congratulation, monstor. Enjoy Princeton.

Yay!!! monstor, excellent news, enjoy the Garden State … we’ll be there in a couple of weeks for a meet, but that will probably be our last time Great school, beautiful campus. Congrats!

Our student got “the call” yesterday–the LL is on the way…!!!

Congratulations fogfog and fogfogS!

Congratulations to all the lucky athletes who have successfully negotiated this process. Our DS is still a year off, but your willingness to share your experience is invaluable.

Fantastic news monster and fogfog! Congrats on a job well done. I’m very happy for you.

Nice work M and fogfog!

Now, M, get that fastball to 90+!

stemit, I am getting oh so very close. After feeling like I was throwing my hardest ever in a bullpen two weeks ago without having a gun there to confirm it (wow though, the “whippy” feeling was just amazing), I finally got my dad to pull out the gun today in rather chilly 50 degree weather. I felt that I was throwing decently hard, though I wasn’t quite generating the same whippiness, and the speculation is a bit irritating as I was 86-89 on the gun today (most common were 87s) and I can only wonder, not know, whether I was truly hitting 90+ two weeks ago. Regardless, I’ve definitely made another significant step since the end of the summer and hopefully through more and more training and lifting I can keep progressing. Even the off-season’s an exciting time!

Oh, and for the sake of relevance to the thread, the actual LL came in the mail last Friday.
