Somebody told me. A reliable source If it’s not, I apologize in advance for getting people’s hopes up but I am fairly certain it is today. It is definitely sometime this weekend though. Can someone tell me the website you use to check your application status?

You can’t divulge this source?
After you submit your application, you’re supposed to get a confirmation email from Caltech with a link that lets you check your account status
https://apply.caltech.edu/account/login

It’s not today since they would have announced it and it won’t be tomorrow since colleges don’t release on Sundays so it’ll most likely be Monday.

Where’s everyone from? Pennsylvania
What do you want to major in? Something along the spectrum of chemistry and biology
Apply anywhere else EA? Nope
Fun fact!: **I can draw a pretty cool cartoon llama in 15 seconds or less. **

Well, if it is today, we will know in about 15 minutes. In the mean time

Where’s everyone from? Delaware
What do you want to major in? Chemical Engineering
Apply anywhere else EA? MIT
Fun fact!: A MAN A PLAN A CANAL PANAMA, is a palindrome.

Deferred… Bummer:(

Decisions are up if you log in to your account. It will say that there’s an update on 12/8…

Anyways, deferred

How did you check

They are out, everyone check your status page for a status update. Rejected. qq.

There is a “Status Update” on the “app status” and a “View Update” link… Best of luck to you all.

To those of you who were deferred, what does your letter say? Like mine says:
On behalf of the staff and faculty on the Admissions Committee at the California Institute of Technology, I would like to thank you for the time and effort taken in completing your application. It is with regret that we are unable to offer you a place in our Class of 2017.

Deferred, damn. I guess that probably means a deferral at MIT too :(

"The Admissions Committee has completed its review of Early Action applicants and decided to reevaluate your application in our Regular Decision review process.

If you would like to be reconsidered in or withdrawn from the Regular Decision process, please complete the online Deferment Reply Form. We encourage you to update your application with additional information you feel the Admissions Committee might find helpful. You may do so by uploading materials through your student portal. The Deferment Reply Form, application updates, and your midyear grades must be submitted to our office by February 1, 2013.

If you have further questions about this process, I would encourage you to contact our office and speak to the admissions officer in charge of your region. You can expect to be notified of our decision by April 1, 2013."

Rejected… with a 2380, USAMO x2, Clark Scholars, and a research paper. :/

Does someone want to make a results thread?

Deferred *** :(

"How many deferred students are typically admitted during Regular Decision?

Last year, we experienced a record low five percent acceptance rate for Early Action applicants who were initially deferred. Given the highly selective nature of the process this year, we do not anticipate the admission rate for deferred students to rise above ten percent."

Eh…

Rejected

Oh well.

AHH. Too scared to check.

Accepted! Now for MIT.

So far, even with a small sample size, there is 1 acceptance, 4 deferrals and 3 rejections. So a 12.5 percent acceptance rate. Looks about the same as previous years.
