When do Cal Poly Pomona Acceptances come out and how do you view them?
Thanks.
You need to setup your student portal to view your application status. Cal Poly will send you an email with instructions on how to setup the portal. You can usually view your acceptance on the portal, prior to receiving an email. Acceptances will start for Fall 2016 around the end of January. Both my son’s received invitations to apply to the Honors College, prior to their acceptance (so kinda of heads up). The acceptances come in waves over the course of a few months: Jan-March.
How about offers to sign up for EOP, do they signal acceptance? Got one from SDSU who thinks we qualify but we don’t. We got an offer for honors college at Sac State, our local CSU.
Does anyone know why the admissions decisions at CPP take so long if they are based strictly on number rankings by major and all applications are in by November 30? Are they waiting on test scores from December tests? If that’s the case, I can see waiting until late January, but don’t understand why people would find out as late as March.
Just wondering because my D received decisions from the two other Cal State schools she applied to in mid-December.
@eh1234: A mystery yet to be solved.
They’re not strictly that . Even though they don’t say it they look at your race also
California publics banned affirmative action, so race cannot be used in admission decisions.
But wouldn’t it make sense to fill somewhat of a quota? Because schools always brag about how “diverse” they are. I know they aren’t using your race against you but I feel it does affect their perception about you when creating a picture of who you are when deciding your admission. Especially since admissions aren’t totally unsubjective.
I don’t think they’re going to look at race, CPP is decently diverse like most California schools are, though there is a very obvious trend of very few Black or Native American students, with the majority being split evenly between Asians, Latin@s and white students. So…I don’t think so!
@Gumbymom did you notice any trend as to when the decisions were released? Like grade or major based etc.?
In the mean time, good luck to us all!
They usually start with high stats/honor college invitees first and also local in-service area applicants. I do not remember if they start with any particular major or college. You could look back on last year threads, but both son’s (local and honor college invitees) heard end of January.
Some Cal Poly Pomona decisions came out on 2/1/2016. It was phrased as a “Provisional Acceptance,” which I believe means that if you pass all your courses senior year, then you are accepted. I’m curious when Cal Poly SLO will make their decisions.
