When do decisions come out?

Rejected. Asian Indian from the UAE. 2200 SAT. No idea about GPA.

Accepted! I’m so happy!!!

It’s something about girls and UNC Chapel Hill. They just really love them and no offense especially African American girls. I know 30 black girls who applied and 23 of them were accepted. And 10 of them have either been suspended for fighting, cheating or were not even in the top ten percent of the class. One of my friends meanwhile is an African American male whose higher ranked than them, had more leadership positions and attended numerous programs there but applied early action, got deferred and then just found out today he won’t know until Monday at the EARLIEST. I’m frustrated for him to be honest.

Waiting list…

Accepted from MA!

Deferred, then waitlisted. Whatevs, I suppose. I already got into UVA and UChicago, so Chapel Hill had dropped significantly on my list. Still liked their creative writing program, though :/

“It’s something about UNC and girls, they just love them”

That is wrong. Last year men were accepted at a 35% rate. Women were accepted at a 31.7% rate. Don’t equate the fact that UNC accepts more women with the premise that they somehow prefer women or are that women are advantaged in admissions. The breakdown of women applicants to men is huge. That is why there are more women than men that attend. But, the bottom line is that it is much easier for men to be admitted because of the discrepancy in application numbers.

tornbtweenaporib,

It is unfortunate that you are subjecting all women and especially african american women to those standards. I am an African American woman and I can tell you that I was ACCEPTED because I earned my spot and not just because I’m black and a woman. Focus your frustrations on other matters and not social stereotypes .

Is UNC’s mascot the Blue Devil or the Cavalier? I always get the two confused.

Yes tornbtweenaporib, as a white male I find that statement appalling. I am extremely uncomfortable in situations pertaining to race or gender, and will go out of my way to achieve political correctness, as should you. please refrain from using such common stereotypes that males are worse off than females, because, while it may be true, we need woman for so much. Do not offend them, you will ruin that for the rest of us.

@michigan2016, do some research before you type. could you not have googled that? now you look like an idiot! we are the wolfpack for crying out loud! people like you go to duke, hahah amirite?

Oriolefan44 - I cannot take anything you say seriously because you are an Oriole’s fan. However, I agree with you 100%.

@michigan2016 actually I only like them because they are bad. Thats why I’m a bobcats fan too. Whatup mj! wolfpack legend!

UNCMarissa - how do you know that you earned your spot? can anyone ever be sure what happened behind the scenes at an admissions meeting?

Is UNC in Durham or Raleigh? I always get the two confused.

@michigan its raleigh-durham for one. and another note, we’re in asheville

Oriolefan44, stop being such a ■■■■■.

I would make a joke about Michigan’s mascot here, but I don’t even know what it is.

I don’t think anyone does…

Appalachian State does…

They figured it out in the Big House.
