Last year did they say they were going to announce on the 15th or 31st and just go ahead and do it on the 4th, or did they say early january and then do it on the first

ill be disappointed if its not friday but its not the end of the world

yo Daniel its me mark (remember me?) but anyway last year they had those two dates posted as well but ended up releasing a majority of the decisions on January 5th and 6th and later days for those who had issues with their application. but everyone is speculating Friday (i have no idea why) just because they think it'll be "cruel" for UNC to release it on a Saturday (again I'm lost in the logic). But its safe to say that since they released decisions the first week of January two years in a row, it might as well be the same.

I thought the Friday argument was made because for those accepted, it'll give them a good weekend. And for those not accepted, they'll have the weekend to recuperate before school.

Hmm...I'm becoming doubtful that we're going to be notified tomorrow..I don't know, it almost seems too good to be true. hah.

I refuse to believe that in 24 hours we will all know what we've been dying to know for oh so lonnng. But I guess it does make sense to notify us on a friday because of the weekend deal (time to celebrate or get over it..?) But I didn't really think that they put that much thought into what day they notify...

Many schools tell you the "exact" date and then post results online earlier than that date. The admissions frenzy has caused many schools to deviate from their stated dates.

The best advice is to follow the guidelines set out so as not to be disappointed and then if the results are posted earlier than scheduled it's a plus for all involved.

As a very wise man once told me...."try not to worry about the things you can't control...." the wisdom that has come with age has reinforced this belief...it also reduces headaches, ulcers and loss of sleep.....LOL!

I also want to wish everyone the very best of luck. The excitement mounts, the rapt anticipation of tomorrow's verdit stirs hopes and fears, excitement and anxieties.

The following words by Lao Tzu were written thousands of years ago and still seem to ring true.

People through finding something beautiful
Think something else unbeautiful,
Through finding one man fit
Judge another unfit.
Life and death, though stemming from each other, seem to conflict as stages of change,
Difficult and easy as phases of achievement,
Long and short as measures of contrast,
High and low as degrees of relation;
But, since the varying of tones gives music to a voice
And what is the was of what shall be,
The sanest man
Sets up no deed,
Lays down no law,
Takes everything that happens as it comes,
As something to animate, not to appropriate,
To earn, not to own,
To accept naturally without self-importance:
If you never assume importance
You never lose it.
