When do decisions come out?

Economics and Russian.

Psychology and linguistics.
But not psycholinguistics. I love both fields but dislike their overlap.

Quick question ->
Is it 5 PM EST or EDT for the decision time?
The mail says EST, but aren’t you guys using EDT right now?

Architecture with an Economics minor, perhaps.

I really want to get in =(
The 26th doesn’t seem to be coming soon enough! =/

Decision time will be EST.

I’m thinking Anthro and Linguistics. Crossing my fingers.

Welles, thanks!

By the way, dancer, I didn’t apply to MHC but I did apply to Bryn Mawr :D.

Haha, great. Women’s colleges unite! =P

where else did you apply? i think i’ve seen you in the Amherst forum? Brown?

Brown, not Amherst.
I applied to a weird bunch of schools. The Ivies, Chicago(waitlisted before you ask:P), Williams, Wellesley(obviously:P), Smith, MHC, couple of more LAC’s, Brandeis, etc. It’s basically colleges from every spectrum :P

You?

You applied to all of the Ivies? :open_mouth: Which LACs? That sounds like a lot of schools…
Well, I applied to a fair share myself lol. Brown (ED, deferred), Yale, Amherst, Wesleyan, Swarthmore, Vassar, Wellesley, Smith, Bryn Mawr, Macalester, Tufts, Middlebury, Bowdoin, Bard, and Bates.
I hate how it’s so hard for an international student seeking aid to have safeties.
But yeah, which one is your top choice?

Are acceptances mailed out before rejections ad waitlists?

@Heartlikeasocket, Not ALL the Ivies =P

I do know people in my school who have applied to all though, haha
Top choice is wherever I get in! :stuck_out_tongue: Haha, I love Columbia and Dartmouth. Opposites, I know:P And Williams and Wellesley. Not expecting them 'cause of the aid.

Yeah, all acceptance rates are nearly halves for internationals, and even less for those seeking aid. :/

What’s your top choice? :)

Me too!! I applied to like all of those, but amherst, not williams. I was waitlisted at university of chicago too. grr

UChicago waitlistees unite! :)

Dartmouth and Williams are need-blind though :D.
And lol I agree with your top choice mentality. I love Brown and Amherst but I also love Wesleyan and argh, it’s pretty complicated because my personal favorites aren’t in the same order as the ones that I would choose to attend if accepted. For example, I <3 Wes more than Yale, but I’d pick Yale for a myriad of reasons that are legitimate, maybe even more so than the reasons I love Wes (not just prestige, I promise). But basically, wherever I get in, I’ll be happy :D.

Williams turned “need-aware” sometime last month!! So, it’s pretty much hopeless now.
Yeah, I don’t know where I’ll go honestly. It’s going to be a tough choice if it’s between LACs and Ivies. (And yes, it’s not the prestige issue) I’m planning to visit around the 10th and see the colleges once before deciding.

@phanatic, Jubles: I think they waitlisted everyone. =P Haha. Any idea what their acceptance rate was if it’s been released?

^ Need-aware only for internationals.

Ugh I’m jealous – there’s no way I could visit. I spent 5 weeks at Wes (and 4 at Duke, but I didn’t even apply) and loved it, but haven’t seen a single other campus.
But wow that sucks about Williams. Amherst <3.

Today, my counselor got an email from Bard saying they were seriously considering admitting me :D.
