When do decisions come out?

How come you spent 5 weeks there? That must have been so much of fun!
Haha, yeah clearly Amherst wins over this time. :P

And don’t worry, most internationals don’t visit. The only problem that I’m facing is to get a male to tour around :stuck_out_tongue: Haha, my grandfather and uncle live there but they’re busy and so is my dad and of course, mom and I can’t visit alone. Trying to work out something :)

And CONGRATS! =) I hope you get in! Nobody ever contacts my school which is probably 'cause they’re very well-acquainted with it.
Got any other decisions by now?

It was this amazinggg program called the Center for Creative Youth; I did creative writing but there were a lot of other arts like acting and dance and stuff. It’s really a fantastic program.

Thanks :D. Bard seems to be legit handicapped when it comes to using the Common App… lots of people have had strange stuff happen with theirs. And my midyear report status is “downloaded”. Very interesting.

Unfortunately, no. I have no clueee. Jealous of people who’ve already been accepted to like three safeties with merit scholarships and that kind of thing :(.

How about you?

Hahah, 3 safeties with scholarship/FA =P
But I only like MHC from among those.
And like I’ve told you before, waitlisted at Chicago.
Let’s see…my next round of decisions starts from the 24th.
Did you have any safeties?

Oh, the Common App has its flaws. Wes was always shown as having an incomplete supplement, which doesn’t exist. :stuck_out_tongue:
Wanna hear how I applied to Wes?
I was just checking if colleges take applications after the deadline and submitted the Common App to Wes just like that on the 4th.[college-obsessed-creepiness] And that day itself, they accepted it :stuck_out_tongue: Haha, then I thought that maybe I should just submit the materials as well. And hence, I applied. :stuck_out_tongue: I don’t expect to get in, again 'cause of the FA and I’m not in love with it anyway. Nothing’s lost. =)

Grrr you’re one of themmm haha.
Mine too, Bryn Mawr, very excited.
And nope, no safeties, ■■■.
Yup, I have that same Wes thing. But lol yeah I think colleges that don’t require supplements get a lot of casual applicants. I sent an additional (really strange) letter to show that I wasn’t one of them, so hopefully they’ll appreciate it. It talked about how they needed to accept me because I have a teddy polar bear named Butters after these dorms, Butterfield, where I stayed and how I hadn’t eaten a sandwich from the Neon Deli in my whole five weeks there which just desperately needed to be rectified. I had a lot of fun with it lol. But yeah, they’re super selective with their international FA :'(.

Sorry guys, this seems like a legit conversation going on, but I have to say I AM DYING I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT I AM GETTING IN I love Wellesley.

UGH.

Your post is more legit than our incorrectly-located conversation :D.
Friiiidayyy!

@dancer1502: Re Chicago, I’ve heard RD acceptance rate estimates that range from 12% to 18%. That’s about a third of what it was when I first put it on my list. O_o

I applied to Smith, MHC, Barnard, Wellesley, Syracuse, Univ Richmond. Out of those, I visited MHC, Mount Holyoke, Wellesley and Brown…I stayed at Brown for a couple days in my sis’s dorm, and visited wellesley during family weekened. BIG change from Brown campus. My dad and I loved it!
Accepted to MHC, and I haven’t found out any others, but I’m crazy nervous. Especially Wellesley and Barnard, bc those are my top choices. Out of the two, I’d probably choose Wellesley bc it’s a hop and skip away from Brown, and I could see my sis all the time without going to the same school. I would NEVER go to the same school. FA is a must, and can’t go without a good lot of it. My essays weren’t academic-y in the least…this may help or hurt me. I wrote about zit-picking in my Barnard app. Fatal flaw if there ever was one hahaha.

@phanatic: Yeah! I guess they wanted to surprise everyone who thought that it was relatively easier to get in. I only know of 2 kids accepted from my city as of now.

@Heartlikeasocket: You seem to really love Wes. I really do hope that you get in, you’d be ecstatic :D

@inconspicuous.s.n. : We’re all waiting!!! I applied to Wellesley last minute again, so my interest in it might not come out. Let’s see, all I can do is hope. :)

I got into Bryn Mawr with an amazing merit scholarship! :D

wow. a lot of people intend to major in linguistics!! i think i put that as one of mine, too…but i took a ling course and didnt enjoy it very much.

Congratulations!!! XD XD XD

Thank you :D.

The “check status” web site has been closed.

“The window for checking your application status online has closed. If you are concerned that your application may not be complete, please call the admission office at 781-283-2270.”

Does that mean the result will come out anytime today?

That probably means all the decisions have been made. It does not mean they will come out today, since admissions probably has to record everything, get all the letters ready, etc. Someone posted that friday would be the date they go out.

Good luck everyone!!

Yeah, I think we all received an email saying that they’re releasing them on the 26th. Didn’t you receive it?

I know I didn’t get that e-mail yet. I got one from Smith, but the last e-mail I received from Wellesley was when my EE decision was ready.

I received an email from Smith a few min. ago, but I never got the Wellesley one…O.O Should I call them?

I wouldn’t do that just yet.

When did everyone else receive the Wellesley e-mail? That might give us a sense of how delayed our e-mails are, and if further action is needed.

I’m pretty sure the emails were sent to international applicants, because they can check their decisions online this Friday. Domestic applicants will receive decisions via snail mail, which will be sent out Friday, I think.
