When do fall of 2016 decisions usually come out?

@SkyDiamond997 Congrats on hearing back! And thank you! I suppose I will just have to wait it out.

I am also hoping for a substantial merit scholarship, and seeing that people with my similar stats (2170 SAT, 3.8 gap for me) are getting much more money than I would have anticipated. I thought it worked off the chart on their website http://www.udel.edu/finaid/ns_schol_nonresident.html I have seen so many people on this site where it seems like they are getting way more money than what their scores correlate to on the chart.

like @collegebound2016 do you think you got the money because of your gpa or did you do something else awesome? Because I thought that like your SATs would put you in the running for a 2-5k scholarship.

Are other people getting more money because they have made some sort of other crazy accomplishment or can I hope for this kind of money as well?!

sorry wrong tag @Collegbound2016 could you read my thread right above this one

@Cestlavie1919 I don’t think they go strictly by that chart, it’s usually a combination of stuff. Like
on the chart I have a 31 ACT but a 3.8 GPA so I could get a higher scholarship even though my ACT score would fall in the lowest one (that’s what I’m hoping for anyway). They also look at rigor of courses, your essay, recommendations, and interviews if you did one. Hardly any of the colleges I’ve looked at have strictly stuck to their scholarship outlines, so best to apply and see what you get than not apply somewhere thinking you won’t get enough cuz honestly who knows how these colleges do
it? Anyway, hope that helped!

I wouldn’t go by that chart. Two years ago my D was accepted into the Bio-Chem program with a 28 ACT and 4.25 weighted GPA (not sure of unweighted). She received the Presidential which was then $7000. I’m thinking they over inflate the numbers on purpose.

I am SO SO glad to hear that, makes me less stressed about all of these scholarships! Thank you!

Has anyone’s portal been updated?

Not mine :frowning: I messaged admissions today to ask if I was looking in the wrong place or if they haven’t been posted yet and they just told me
to call Student Finance Services so I don’t know what’s going on. If I don’t hear today I’ll call tomorrow, but I don’t want be obnoxious, especially if they’re in the process of updating them. Any thoughts?

@mfrankel1 Just a reminder if you didn’t see my earlier post. My daughter got her acceptance letter in the mail a few days before her portal updated.

@SkyDiamond997 I’m waiting for my decision letter not financial aid yet but thank you!!!

Oh, sorry!

My d still hasn’t heard, she submitted her application around 10/20 and still hasn’t heard. Is that a bad sign?

@joansass I’m in the same boat. Submitted everything 10/10 and haven’t heard! This Saturday is my 12 week mark so if I don’t hear by then I’m going to email or call admissions on Monday…I guess your 12 week mark is coming up too so you could probably call too. I hope it’s not a bad sign!

I’m a little worried for her, it was one of her top choices

Common App read complete on 11/17…still waiting…

My D was completed on 10/27 I called today to ask how long? She said that letters are sent before the portal us updated. And to expect atlwDt 10-12 weeks for a decision

When you say “complete” you are referring to the Common App requirements, correct?

Usually, when the school says “complete” they mean when they have received everything needed on their end to make a decision. This would include your app, recommendations (if the school asks for them), test scores, grades etc. It also usually takes a few days for the system at the school to update once they receive all of the information. The “Common App” completed date and the school’s completed date are usually different.

completed for all school requirements. They stated yesterday that the 8-12 weeks began on 10/27
her common app was sent on 10/11

My D applied in middle of September, and her info was “complete” as of 10/27. We received a letter around Thanksgiving that said they hoped to give her a decision by the middle of February.
