I was surprised when some of my friends with freshman at other schools talked about signing leases for their kids off-campus houses for their sophomore year within the first few weeks of their freshman year.
It caused me to wonder about the sophomore year housing request process for OSU. Does anyone know when freshman submit requests for their sophomore year housing?
I believe it was in late January or early February. Definitely second semester.
Ohio State was like that before they required students to live on campus for two years. Apartment leases still get signed in October for the following academic year. Could create problems for freshmen who sign leases (and parents guarantees) with kids they have only known for a few weeks. I know of more than a few kids who did that and by the end of freshman year hated their roommate for the following year.
@saillakeerie Yes that was exactly my thought - how can you be sure so early in the year that these are the people you want to live with 12 months from now for the next 12 months.
