When do I have to accept the financial aid?

Hi guys,
So after I got accepted into UC:R, they sent me my financial aid package. I have a couple of questions about that:

(1) They estimated the total cost of attendance to be ~$37,000 (I will have to live on campus) for the year. However, on the financial aid overview, they provided amounts for 3 different seasons for the 2019-2020 school year (I believe fall, winter, and spring). Is the total financial aid for the year the combination of them all?

(2) When do I have to accept it? May 1st is the deadline for admission response. I wanna know what other colleges I get into before making any decisions.

(3) If I have to pay ~$6,000 - $7,000 a year out of my own pocket (and I’m offered $7,500 student loans from UC:R), is that a good deal? Again, I’m looking at other options, but I wanna know if this would be a good safety net choice.

Thanks.

@Hammad80 where do you check your financial aid package?

The UC system is on the quarter system. You will have three quarters of courses-summer would be the 4th quarter. Generally the FA offices predict your yearly package. You should know the total cost of your school, YES??? Did you check the net price calculator for UCR?

@dubbe408 I logged into the portal, and clicked on the financial aid section.

@Hammad80 I don’t see that on my portal

@dubbe408 Can you show me a screenshot of what you see on it? I clicked on the link I received in my email to go to it? Did they say they have your financial aid package ready or not? Because that may be why you don’t see it.

@dubbe408 it’s not the applicant portal where u see your decision… it’s a different portal that u get access to after being accepted…

@Rdhun01 oh then I think that’s why

@Hammad80 only got an email saying I’m accepted

@dubbe408 After that email, it takes a while for them to send a financial aid package email. That’s the email that tells you your financial aid is ready.

@Hammad80 thanks a lot and congrats

@dubbe408 No problem and thank you. Btw, did you just recently (today) get an email for UCR Honors Program?

No I did not @Hammad80

@dubbe408 Alright, it might be a class % rank based thing.

My financial aid award page showed all the offer available as estimation but I did not see any place that I can accept or decline each offer. Today, all awards on the award page are gone and I did not see any financial information on the Rweb site. Can anybody give me an idea what is going on and how can I accept and decline the award offer? Thanks.

@dragon721 No one here can answer that questions, call the financial aid office ASAP. https://financialaid.ucr.edu/help

@Mwfan1921 . OK Thanks.
