When do I send SAT/ACT scores and transcripts?

Are they due by the application deadline, or am I supposed to send them after? I know some schools don't need transcripts, and some want to me upload a transcript? What does that even mean? (ie UT Austin)

I don’t know of any schools that don’t need transcripts. You should be sure they are submitted along with your test scores by the application due date. This link takes you to the website where the transcript submission process is explained for UT Austin: [Submit Application Items | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/submit)

UCs and Cal States just have you self report and you send transcripts after you get in… I know it’s weird. If my school told me to use Parchment do I send them through that site no matter what each individual college says?

At my d’s school they tell the kids it may take 2-3 weeks to get the transcripts sent. If that is the case at your school plan accordingly. For us we have had transcripts and act scores reported before the application was sent (due to two essays) and they matched everything up just fine. I think generally it is best to get them all in at about the same time. Literally I think the act is only a day or two from when you request it but the transcript may vary from school office to school office.
