I enrolled in my local community college, and my counselor told me that she was putting my classes for the Summer/Fall semester, because I came too late for Spring, and that I would be starting school in the beginning of June. This was in March. Today is the day given to me to finally enroll in my classes, but they say Fall semester. I looked at when each class starts and they say in August.
I looked to see if these same classes were available Summer 2017 and they’re not.
What am I supposed to do during the summer? Do I just enroll in any classes, until Fall?
Please, help me before I pay for them.
I don’t understand why you arent calling the college to ask about this.
I don’t know who to talk to, and I’ve tried emailing my counselor since last month, but she doesn’t reply.
google: “start of term-summer” at “your community college”
Summer starts in June like she told me, but my classes are for August(Fall).
Call the registrar. Explain and ask them to check if you are enrolled. If you are enrolled for June, explain that haven’t yet chosen any courses. Take it from there. Better still, go talk to a person in the registrars office.
For future reference, if you don’t hear from people within a reasonable amount of time, like say a week, you have to be proactive. It’s up to no one but yourself to see that you get educated. Don’t wait for people to do stuff for you.
You need to call, not email. ASAP.
Community college staff are often useless. GO TO THE COLLEGE and figure stuff out.
Most people start college in the fall. Maybe the college didn’t offer the classes you want in summer so she signed you up for spring. Also your advisor may not be working full time during the summer. If your advisor is not available, then contact the Dean of Students or the head of the department you will be majoring in.
