I'm not sure if this is the right thread, but please share if you know.

First week of December.

thank you!

The counselor at my son’s school advised me today that the school got a report of scores the Oct 2012 PSAT/NMSQT test. She will be sending home the score report sheets next week. The school still does not know the qualifying score for the semi-finalist standing.

Our school in southern NJ already distributed the score sheets…

The school won’t know the qualifying score for NMSF until next August and it will vary by state. There are threads on CC that list the past cutoff numbers by state so you can gauge whether or not the score is too low, in the ballpark, or safe. For example, in VA the score has ranged from 217-220 over the past 8 years with a cutoff of 217 last year. Could easily go back up to 220 this year, but isn’t going to drop to say 212.

Hi!

Just a note, the PSAT center is in Princeton so I am assuming (from that fact and the fact a lot of NJ students got scores) that East Coast schools will get it faster. It was mailed this week.

But it’s all based on your school- some of them withhold scores to enter them in a database or for some other reason. You cannot contact Collegeboard directly to inquire about your scores- your school handles that.

I’m from Illinois, my guidance counselor gave me my score report today! No NMF for me :p
