When do schools start to review your applications?

For non rolling based schools, the RD deadline is Dec. 31/Jan, 1st. If you turn your app in now, will they start reviewing you or they wait until after the New Year? TIA!

I would assume if your file is complete, some schools will start reading as soon as recruiting and travel season is over for their admissions officers.

they gotta get the senior year 1st half

hopeful: Eh, not so sure about that.... Me thinks that they will read the apps, make a preliminary decision and then unless 1st semester senior year grades are really an aberration, decision is done.

i know one person who worked a few years ago at a very selective college (15% acceptance) and she said that after she finished visiting, all she would do is read apps. They don't wait until the deadline-it's enough apps as it is!

I hope they start reviewing them early, I sent mine in a few weeks ago (for ED) and it would be nice to have them read mine once before they get too bogged down...maybe improve my chances a bit.

I heard the ivies are removing ED/EA soon? Is that true?

^ Some already have: Harvard, Princeton...

Brown had EA last year, but now they only have ED.

What about the other ivies?

ciiaobella, Brown did not have EA last year.
