<p>I take it you did NOT apply early anywhere? Each school has its own deadline. You should check the website of the schools requiring you to submit CSS.</p>

<p>I think most people file them at nearly or the same time. If you have one you can feed it onto the other one. Good Luck</p>
<p>Hazmat, I think the feed direction is one way. After you submit or are ready to submit Profile (online), you are shown a page you can print that shows 95% of the lines for Fafsa. That is the time to finish the Fafsa too, if you can. Fafsa does not feed to Profile, except as coincidentally some of the info is the same.</p>

<p>if you applied early and have already completed the Profile using estimates for '05, then most colleges want you to submit your 2004 return. You'll need to file fafsa in early Jan and then send your 2005 return.</p>
<p>we filed the PROFILE early- in November although D1 was applying regular decision.
Advantages were getting it out of way-
December is bad enough without worrying about three finaid forms to finish-
and it was taken care of incase she changed her mind and applied ED-
since PROFILE gives you a form to make filling out FAFSA easier, it made sense to do it first- especially since you can't do FAFSA till Jan 1st
Her school also had their own finaid form to send- so it was nice to get at least one done earlier than last minute
However each school is different
At her school all finaid forms are due January 15 ( for reg students)
tax forms and W'2s are due April 15th
Some schools may be later-</p>
