You fill out the FAFSA at the beginning of the year as soon as you get your W-2s. Or your parents W-2s if you are under 21. You fillout the FAFSA for aid in the following school year. For example, in late Jan or early Feb 2005 you would fill out FAFSA for 2005-2006 school year. Do the online version, its 1000x easier. Also be sure to go to www.fafsa.gov and not the dot com version which is a service that fills it out for you at a high cost.

You may fill out the FAFSA on January 1 (with yor parents using thier last pay stub and last year's taxes). When asked the questions about your 2004 taxes, you state (rather your parents state) will file. When they get the W-2's and file their taxes (they should file as soon as possible because most schools will ask for a copy of their W-2's and signed taxes), the FAFSA can alwaysa nd probably will be amended. The beauty of filing on line vs snail mail is that this is done within 24-48 hours.

The FAFSA can be done before February 1st. The PROFILE should be done before January 1 for regular decision. If you don't have all the information, it is OK to estimate.

are u sure??? do i send to every school?

bump bump bump

waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Yes, you send the FAFSA to EVERY school which you are applying to and you send the CSS profile to the schools that request the profile for financial aid consideration

Why should the CSS Profile be sent so early?

woah, the CSS is supposed to be sent before JAn 1? Most schools say that it's about the same deadline as the FAFSA? What should I do now?

do UC's need CSS yet??????????????

From the list, UC's don't take CSS.

Just have your dad's financial advisor fill them all out for you. Thats what i am doing.

uhh ru joking?

lol, i don't think we even have one.. My question still remains and yes uc's don't need css
