<p>When do we know if we get into USC?</p>

<p>Generally it goes like this:</p>
<ol>
<li>The best applicants, those winning Presidential and Trustee Scholarships, or of that caliber, usually hear first--sometime in January.</li>
<li>Good applicants hear next and it will often be before spring although it can go into April. Two years ago, my son, who was in this category of applicants, heard in January.</li>
<li>Marginal applicants may not hear until very late spring. There were a number of parents and students on CC who were very pained last year by how long it took for USC to make a decision on their application.</li>
</ol>
<p>Having said that it tends to differ year to year and was really dragged out last year. The average SAT scores at USC are going up every year so what was considered good two years ago may only be in the average range for this year.</p>

<p>Last year at my school most people who were accepted found out in mid-late February, one or two didnt find out until late March. I remember one smart girl found out really early, like end of January, and it was because she was selected to interview for the presidents scholarship. I hope to hear before April 1, it's too far away!</p>
<p>tsdad, what category would u say I fall under, 3.75UW, 1410, with lots of honors and ap classes, and very good commitment with extracurriculars, and a rec from a USC professor if that helps at all.</p>
<p>it's hard to tell because the SAT scores have been going up so rapidly, but I certainly think you'll be accepted. I honestly don't know when you'll hear although I'm guessing that it will be sooner rather than later.</p>
