We have self report SAT score in common application. We plan to submit it in for EA and ED before Nov. We have not finalized the college list for Regular decision. Do we send official SAT to EA and ED schools before Nov 1? Can you submit official SAT score before submitting the common apps to the RD school?
Check with each school for their policy. It will be on their admissions website. Sometimes it’s a bit hard to find (looking at you MIT).
D22 is completing 12 applications. Four require official reports from College Board with the application. The other eight accept self-reported scores and require an official report only if she enrolls, next May.
Yes, you can send scores, and other material, before your application is submitted. Schools will match everything up as different parts are received.
D20 sent official scores to her ED school, along with official AP scores, in early October. Their deadline was 11/15 and she planned on getting everything in before Halloween. She wanted them to know she was really serious about wanting to go and also wanted them to know what she was self-reporting was completely accurate (all 5s and an SAT score above their 75th %ile). If she didn’t get accepted there in the ED round, she was planning on sending scores to her ED2 school and, if not admitted there, they would have gone her other reach schools.
I guess if you have money to burn.
If the school accepts self-reported scores, sending an official report will not boost an application. The incentive for being accurate is that they will require official reports if you attend, and any discrepancies will be problematic.
