When does being asian help?

I know that a bunch of ivies are bombarded with asian applicantions cause they are usually so damn smart and have crazy stats, but does it help if im asian and applying to less selective schools? idk, per se, Syracuse university?

I’ve heard Asians are desirable for some LACs.

Depends on the college you go to. If you to a UC for example, It won’t help. I heard it will actually hurt your chances by a little bit. It helps if you represent an ethnic minority.

@Blake8‌ The UC system is not allowed to consider ethnicity, so it won’t help you nor hurt you either way. Things that help you are being first college generation or low income, regardless of ethnicity.

Schools which consider ethnicity in admissions and where there are very few Asian students (probably well under 5%) are likely candidates.
