When is rush?

Im gonna be a freshman and I want to know how the greek scene rush works, and weather its in the fall or spring semester.

Thanks

Rush is both Fall and Spring semesters, with fall being bigger (or so it seems). Sororities have formal recruitment where you go to all the houses and events. I don't think that frats do that though. There will be plenty of signs the first week (and during orientation) telling you what's going on. Also, greek members help at move-in supposedly just for community service, but the frats are looking for tiny buggy drivers and everyone is looking for members.

Many OCs are also greeks, and though banned from telling you what house they belong to, will be happy to give you more info on the system in general. I'm not greek so I don't know all the details, but there are plenty of opportunities to find out.

Yes, Fall Rush is bigger. You'll see signs of it during orientation, when the frats will all have special events (sometimes in their house, sometimes not, sometimes on campus, sometimes not) pretty much every day. It continues into the following week and dies down after that (as far as I remember). I may be mistaken, but I think pledge night for frats is the Friday of the first week of classes.

actually we arent allowed to rush until orientation is over. but keep ur eyes posted on the bulletins, tables, and teh fence!
