Got wait listed… Now we just have to wait even longer

Also waitlisted. Practically half the people I know have been waitlisted at well, wth?

Son got waitlisted with ACT=34 and UW 4.0, W=4.89
14 APs, went for pre-med Day in summer and it was sons first choice as RD. We did expect FA so not sure was that the deciding factor for them.

But I am sure He will get into other great Schools if not selected from Waitlist.
Not sure how Waitlist really works and when they start notifying if they move them from waitlist to selected .

Others who get accepted Congratulations again WUSTL is a great School and you will have Fun of your Life.

Waitlisted.
35 ACT w/ 4.3 GPA
Was going to play Football for WUSTL.
Coach is going to try to get me off waitlist, sounds like it was a financial aid deal.
If your low-income there’s a good chance it factored into your decision.

DS was waitlisted. No worries, he has other options. He toured, but early on. Congratulations to those that were accepted and good luck to those choosing to stay on the waitlist.

D got rejected. We have other options for her and not overtly concerned. But given what i see is a really a very high percentage of waitlisted candidates, at least on CC…

Congratulations all that have been accepted, and best of luck to the waitlisted ones. There is always a right college for you, hang in there. Only 3 weeks to find out about all your options.

Accepted to CAS! I’m feeling very lucky. Some close friends of mine were waitlisted. To everyone that was, I’m sure you’re all fabulous people and I hope that when April 1st comes you have lots of amazing options.

My daughter just received the “You Are In…”

Accepted to Olin Business School as an international applicant from India. So excited.

Accepted!

Congrats to those lucky few who were accepted!

And, to those who were waitlisted . . .

It’s best to move on, if you possibly can. A waitlist acceptance, if it comes, could arrive as late as August - in other words, long after the May 1 deadline to commit somewhere else. If you’re willing to forfeit your May 1 deposit in the event you eventually get an “admit” from WashU, that’s up to you. Just let WashU know, sometime after you get your other decisions, that you want to stay on the waitlist. If not, then let them know that you appreciate the offer, but would rather not stay on the waitlist.

Son was wait listed. Showed interest (visited, interview), and no financial aid requested.

Accepted to Olin! I’m pretty surprised but I showed a ton of interest (school visit, went to a visit in my city, on-campus visit). 3.98 UW, 34 ACT, homeschooled from Michigan. Super excited! Good luck to everyone wait-listed and congrats to everyone accepted.

Just got notified today. My son is wait listed. He had a strong package. 2320 SAT, 800 on both SAT 2s - chem and math. 5s on all APs (9 APs). Straight As. Excellent recs. Two paid medical internships, national merit finalist, AP scholar, National Honor Society member etc…We were hoping he would have received better news, but it is what it is. He is happy he is wait listed and not rejected :)

Hey waitlisted guys. Did y’all apply for engineering/compsci? I think a lot of ppl there got waitlisted

Waitlisted!

waitlisted as well! I have a 36/ NHS/ the usual leadership positions/bunch of ecs/sports/ whatever makes a qualified applicant so I was slightly dissapointed, but a waitlist isn’t a rejection! To everyone else who was waitlisted: remember, a waitlist here doesn’t mean anything in terms of other schools. As my AP Stats teacher would say, each school is independent of the other. Plus, maybe you’re just overqualified cause washu does do that yield shindig

Son was accepted to CAS. 3.9 (W), 5.2 (UW), 2360 SAT, good SAT 2s and APs. Congrats to all accepted and best of luck to those waitlisted. My daughter was waitlisted 2 years ago - good stats but showed no interest. I know how hard the waiting is! She ended up falling in love with the school she is attending and removed her name from the wait list in the end. Remember that there are lots of great schools out there!

Seeing the amazing credentials of some of those wait listed just reinforces the unfortunate truth that the top schools could reject everyone they accept–move on and accept the next batch–and not know the difference. With 2 to 3 times as many super qualified applicants as they need to fill the freshman class (at Wash U and elsewhere) it can unfortunately come down to the band needing a trombone player-- or other random difference maker. I recommend visiting the Campus Vibe page for other schools you have applied to and discover all the great things about your alternate choices…

I haven’t checked yet, but I’m pretty sure I’m gonna get waitlisted…

Called it! Haha. I should’ve demonstrated more interest Good luck to everyone else on their decisions, and congratulations to all those who got in!
