When a school verifies someone's extra curricular activities, do they usually check every single one, or just one or two?
A school called one of my teachers to make sure that I was really in the musical. I was wondering if they would call to check on all my other extra curriculars too. I don't have anything to hide, but it kind of makes me nervous to think that a school is activly looking for things to reject me based on.
But on the other hand, if they are checking my ECA's, that might mean that I am pretty far along in the application process? I don't know; the college process is killing me.

Actually I was wondering the same thing. Also if they actually ask if you did "certain club" [or whatever] a certain year or they just ask if you did it in general.

Hopefully someone has the answer =)

My school confirms ECs on our transcript. Perhaps your school doesn't do this?

yeah my school also you have to fill out a paper that shows your EC's you participated in which grades and if you holded any positions. then they confirm it with the advisors or whomever then send it.

If your in Key Club or National Honors Society where community service is involved, do they call to check your hours/where you participated?

Most schools usually don't check on applicants' ECs unless you give them a reason to be suspicious. A few schools regularly try to verify such information though; the UC system is know for this. They are said to pick some students randomly and check on exactly one piece of information you provided them with (e.g. an award, an internship, membership of a club...).

yea most colleges don't check, and when they do it's either really suspicious or by chance

A Harvard regional officer called my gc to verify my activities. Is that really bad?

does anyone know how they would verify community service activities that are completed outside of school?
