When should I transfer to Cornell

I'm a freshman here at Emory University interested in transfering to a Business program with better wall street recruiting. I noticed for AEM, applicants have to take chem and bio along with other economic courses. Right now I'm Pre-med at Emory, so I'm taking calc and gen. chem, but I do not have Bio. So here's my question, if I won't be able to finish Bio at Emory by this year, am I still going to be able to transfer to Cornell and take Bio there?

Are you not taking Bio at Emory even though you're pre-med because you have AP credit? Then I believe you won't need to take Bio as an AEM major here; you can just use your credit.

I don't have AP credit for Bio. I'm just not taking Bio because Emory has some stupid GERs (Genearl Education requirements) that I've to fulfill as a freshman. Should I transfer as a sophmore then? Btw, why do Business students have to take science courses?

i'm a transfer student in AEM so i'll shed some light on your situation.

you can definitely still transfer, although you need to contact CALS and tell them about your situation. let them know you are pre-med and are currently taking the science courses required by emory. if you work with CALS, whether over email or phone, you can figure out how to get all the pre-reqs for AEM taken care of even if some may need to be taken upon entering Cornell.

without consulting with them first, when your application gets to them, you'll look like a student that overlooked the pre-req process. this conveys to them that you arent that passionate about making the transfer, you just threw in an app to see if you can get in.

i cannot stress enough how important it is to actually TALK to these people and get your name separated from the applicant pool.

betterday- just curious, other that the "better wall street recruiting" factor, what are some other reasons why you want to transfer? I was just curious because I'm also looking into Emory/ Goizueta.

Frankly, that's the only reason. Off course, that's not what i'm gonna put on my app.. I really don't have any reason to "hate" the school. Goizueta is a small school (250 students) which sends around 20 students per year to Bulge Brackets (out of 100 finance focus students). I don't think 20 is a lot, considering Georgetown sends 15 to Goldman Sacs alone.
