I was told they would be today. I meet the criteria (33 ACT and above 4.00 GPA) so i am expecting an invitation to apply. When should i receive the email?

Just got it :)

Well then, get applying! \m/

@Gator88ne i dont know if im going to apply actually. The honors college is only available for the first 2 years correct? Well ill be entering as a freshman, but i still have 60 credits from my high school (dual enrollment) going in. So would it make sense for me to do the honors college if i already basically have the first two years of college done?

It’s a 4 year program. What’s limited to the first 2 years (I think it’s the first 3 semesters) is the ability to enroll in classes early. However, once you’re a junior, early enrollment isn’t that big a deal (as a freshman fighting over all of those intro classes, it is).

To graduate from the honor’s program, you have to earn 14 honor “points” (and graduate with honors, such as cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude). Some points are earned by taking honor classes, others by joining clubs, taking leadership positions (in clubs, student government, etc.) or doing volunteer work. Study abroad also earns “points”.

If you don’t want to cram all of this into your last two years, then I can see why you wouldn’t want to apply.

Of course, you can still graduate with cum laude, etc., as that’s based on your GPA and major.

Good Luck!
