When should the Stafford Loan counseling be done for Fall 2011?

<p>Yes - we are new to this. My son is going to be taking the $5500 in Stafford student loans and the school requires loan counseling. He will be starting in the fall. When should the loan counseling be done?</p>

<p>You should take it immediately. It will spell out all the ins and outs of the loan. It is by no means a legal binding Contract forcing you to take the loan. It will answer all your question better that anyone on here.</p>

<p>There is likely some online link through your child’s MyXYZCollege page and you probably need to do this right away to make sure that everything is processed in a timely manner.</p>
