When should we expect cal grant A?

<p>Cal Grant A is only for fees. Any excess you would be entitled to would not be Cal Grant A monies. It’s really just semantics since all the money (grants, scholarships, loans) seems to be piled together, but it does matter come tax time (grant money used for say room and board or anything “for fun” would be taxed, but grant money used for something like books and supplies for school would not be). You want to be able to claim that the $10,302 was applied only to system-wide fees ;)</p>

<p>Also, officially none of the Cal Grant monies are supposed to have been paid out yet. From the CSAC website:</p>

<p>But it seems at least UCSC has already pushed the money through. My account on CSAC shows no activity, though, so I’m not sure what’s going on. What shows in my portal certainly contradicts what CSAC is saying. I definitely haven’t seen any direct deposit money or notification of any being sent.</p>

<p>I’m not too terribly worried at this time, but I am keeping an eye on things. I’ll be very surprised if I see a direct deposit of any of my $517 Access money before the budget is passed. If I see anything of interest (or hear anything new), I’ll let people know. I’d appreciate the same :)</p>
