When the lights go out, do they stay out?

probably. freshmen are the only ones here with lights-out [at 10:30], but as a freshman, i turned the light back on after final check-in fairly often. most people did at least at some point, if not on a regular basis.

Izzy-is the reason you turned the lights back on…to study or party? At my d’s school underclassman houses have lights out 10:30 or 10:45 during the week.

For a study party I suppose.

generally for study or for occasionally continuing an IM conversation. not much partying going on on weeknights for me.

My son is a night owl (usually can not fall asleep before midnight) and he has late start twice a week. I often speak to my son after lights out, so I KNOW he turns them back on…but it is to Skype with us and friends, do homework, chill, IM like IBB said etc…not partying going on just some decompression time.

Nope, I don’t know who could party. It’s probably just people staying up until 1 or 2 in the morning doing homework. If anyone wanted to party, it probably wouldn’t be in their dorm rooms on a school night, when they don’t get enough sleep as it is.

Thanks, everyone. I used the word ‘party’ as more of a euphemism for D&A. People who don’t want to get caught can be very quiet doing drugs or drinking. D&A is available at almost any high school, public or private.

I’ve gone to Exeter for a little more than a term now, but I haven’t heard, seen, or even thought of something stupid like that going on after I go to sleep. Most people I know will usually be in bed at 1 am at the lastest when they have a lot of homework. We are definately too tired sometimes to even think about partying…let alone at 4 am. lol if this goes on at another boarding school. :D
