when to apply? during Christmas break, or during Spring semester (for FALL 2011)

<p>I'm trying to transfer into Fall 2011 as a sophomore.</p>

<p>When should I apply?
Christmas break?
or during the Spring semester?</p>

<p>**Christmas break? **i'm a freshman with only one semester's worth, but if i apply during Christmas break, I won't have an established GPA/record that includes my second sem courses.</p>

<p>Spring semester? I fear that some of my schools (esp. UMD) are super competitive and they say it's better to get things in early.</p>

<p>advice?</p>

<p>even if you apply during the spring semester, you will still only have 1 full semester of grades to send in. Most colleges ask for a mid-year report, so it doesn’t matter if you send your application in now or later. Personally, I’m starting my applications now so I can perfect my essays and not have to stress about them in the spring.</p>

<p>that was actually my plan as well. when are you sending in your transcript? mid sem? or during the xmas break?</p>

<p>i actually sent in my high school transcript two days ago. i’m going to send my college transcript in after break</p>
