When to apply to colleges? After the Christmas break or before? (Fall 2011)

<p>I'm applying for transfer status for Fall 2011. When should I apply?</p>

<p>Should I apply after the Christmas break, when I have no grades on my transcript for second sem?</p>

<p>or</p>

<p>Before Christmas break, then send in my transcripts later?</p>

<p>Depends on your schools. Take NYU for example. Their due date for transfer apps is April 1. Would it be beneficial if I sent it now or shortly after Christmas? Probably not. It might even be risky. They’re going to be inundated with Freshman applications, and there is always the possibility of them losing transcripts, LORs, etc within the frenzy of applications. </p>

<p>Unless the school works on a rolling basis, I would wait until the madness of Freshman applications dies down. Maybe sometime around mid February, early March? Once again it depends on your school, and of course the applicant.</p>
