Hello, is the 11th grade too early to start applying for full-ride, full- tuition, and other scholarships? Thanks for your time!!
I m not going to repeat the answer I wrote on the other thread you started…but I will amend a bit.
You are in 11th grade. The financial aid application forms for need based aid will become available for you to file on October 1 of your senior year of high school. So…that’s when you should aim to complete those forms.
The best scholarships are awarded by the colleges to which you get accepted. So pick colleges to apply to where you are at the tippy top of the applicant pool.
There are a couple of highly competitive National scholarships that do take 11th grade applicants. But most don’t. You can’t apply for college awarded aid of any kind until you actually are a HS senior.
And mostly…you can’t really apply for for scholarships (are you talking about merit aid?) until you have an SAT or ACT score…and usually your 11th grade end of year GPA at least.
So…have you taken the SAT or ACT? What were your scores?
What is your current GPA?
How much aid do you need to get to attend college.
You need to understand that full free ride, and even full tuition merit scholarships are competitive awards and go to top or high stats applicants. There are awards like this at most places…but they are few and far between, and not easy to get.
Would you be questbridge eligible (without an SAT score…or ACT…that’s going to be hard to determine)
It’s a good time to research schools that give automatic merit aid and the stats needed for them.
You can begin researching, but not really applying now. The scholarships being awarded this year are for this year’s seniors.
