When to apply?

I'm in the running for a paralegal job I really hope I can get. I am interested in law school, and if I was to get the job, when would be a good time to apply for law school? This year so I can gain admission for the 2015-2016 school year? Or should I wait until next year for the 2016-2017 school year once I have a year of experience working in a law firm?

Also, what are my chances of getting into a decent program? I went to two colleges and majored in psychology. Both colleges are virtually unknown. My cumulative GPA from both is a 2.7, but I have a 3.2 from the school I graduated from, plus my GPA steadily rose from freshman year up until I graduated.

You should get at least one full year of work experience. 2 is better. However, you should calculate your LSDAS GPA. With a 2.7, you’d need to get an LSAT in the low to mid 170s[/url”>http://www.lawschoolpredictor.com/wp-content/uploads/Law-School-Predictor-Full-Time-Programs.htm]170s to make law school a worthwhile proposition.

Ok thanks. If I landed this job, I would look for a tutor to help me.

From an admissions perspective, there is no real difference between starting law school in 2015 or 2016; however, for you personally, there will be a large difference in having a year’s worth of work experience in an actual law firm before deciding to attend law school.
