When to change & what to do :<

A short introduction:

I am currently 19(going on 20 later this year) and I am an undergraduate majoring in Business and Finances in the UK. I have read many, many topics about major major change - like going from Business to preMed, but I could not find what I am looking for, meaning - how exactly does that happen?

From what I have read most preMed schools care only about your grades while studying there. But what about my case in particular? I am a month and a half away from finishing my freshman year and I have no idea what exactly do I have to do. I have looked up several preMed schools, mainly in the States, but I feel like I am missing information. Can I simply drop my current major and study to get into preMed? Or do I have to take courses in summer in order to fulfill some kind of qualification?(if this is the case any information is HIGHLY, HIGHLY appreciated). Or maybe I have to graduate first in Business and then look around for preMed? (meaning 2 extra years of studying something that I might not find that useful, considering preMed and Medschool itself take around 6(10) years?

I have heard many people have done such a transition, business to premed, but can someone elaborate what exactly happens and what kind of processes are there to do it successfully :< ?

Long story short - I am honestly feeling insecure about such change, mainly considering the fact that I am not willing to waste a whole year of doing nothing or working something irrelevant.

You won’t have to worry about the length of medical school if you end up with under a 3.7 GPA. Remember, you need a strong GPA to be a physician.

I had 4.0 GPA in high school and so far in college I am at 3.8, depending on finals. GPA and studying is not an issue for me, neither is length of the study. My main worry is proceeding with the whole process going from business to pre-med school :/.

Since I have found much useful information on these forums prior to going to uni I thought someone might help me out in this rather confusing situation. :S

Wow, that is a strong GPA.
