Greetings all,
I am applying for California State Universities and Universities of California, both having November 30th deadline. I was wondering when it would be appropriate to send in my test scores. I know that the best time to send it in is along with my application, but I am scheduled to take the upcoming SAT and ACT in December. Should I sent the scores I have now, and request to have my December SAT/ACT score send in afterwards, or should I just wait until December and send all my test scores in?
Do the above and send the current scores now and take advantage of the free score reports for the December sitting
If I do that, is it possible for the admission office to look at my current scores and reject me before I sent the December test scores in? I want this to be as smooth and through as possible. Thank you for your reply nonetheless.
No. It is not the best time to send the score along with your application. If you have a satisfy score and determined which school to apply, you should send the score early. If you wait till you submit the application near deadline, the score report may be late. You should submit it at least 2 weeks before application deadline to avoid problem and allow time for corrective action.
@billcsho is right. My child applied for early action to a school but we didn’t send the scores in until close to the deadline. It is still showing “awaiting fulfillment” . I checked my credit card statement, the charge was posted on the day it was requested. My child sent an email to the admissions office with a copy of the email from the College Board saying the request has been received. So they know that it will be on the way soon. The College Board says it can take up to two weeks to even send. We ordered the scores for the UCs yesterday to give ample time to get there.
