When to start looking for job-senior in college

What month should I start looking? Is it too early right now, or can I start looking and applying for jobs on indeed.

Fall is the time. Use your school career center is best.

It depends on the type of job. Some, like teaching, have a very definite hiring period.

Applying now, before you’ve started Student Teaching, would not be a good idea. You’ll want the letter of recommendation from your Cooperating Teacher.

Speak to the Career Center once school starts. You can absolutely get started on a resume and do some practice interviews before you really start looking at jobs. Ask them about the timeline for the type of job you want.

You should actually start looking when you are a junior. Dress up, go to the job fairs as if you were graduating and see what employers are looking for. That gives you an extra year to adjust your curriculum and schedule appropriately.

Agreed that it depends on the type of job you’re looking for. With that said, it is better to be early than late, so if you know what you want to do next year, start researching, doing interview prep, and updating your resume as soon as possible. If you happen to be going into a field that has companies hiring in the fall (banking, consulting, some engineering all come to mind, though that is obviously far form an exhaustive list), then it is more urgent that you get your ducks in a row in the next couple of weeks; if you are going into a field that hires in the spring, then make sure you figure out what you need to do to put yourself in a good position come springtime.
