So, this year currently I am taking AP Chemistry. Next year I am starting my concentration at my high school, the biological/chemical sciences concentration. For this program, I will be taking Chemistry for the next two years, next year intro to organic and the year after, physical. The teacher of the course next year says that the syllabus prepares students for the AP Chemistry Exam just as well as the actual AP Chemistry Class because we will be doing inorganic for the first semester. Should I take the AP Chemistry Exam this year after AP Chemistry or next year after Advanced Chemical Analysis and Introduction to Organic Chemistry?
Are “Advanced Chemical Analysis and Introduction to Organic Chemistry” college classes?
If not, just take the exam, after AP Chemistry.
If they are (which is normally impossible without the AP exam score), yes you should take after taking the college classes.
I would take the AP Chemistry exam after taking AP Chemistry. It would be the easiest if you know exactly the material you are going to be tested on. Although the classes you will be taking in the program sound really informational and beneficial (I’m assuming they’re college classes), it might be overwhelming trying to prepare for the AP Chemistry exam later on, especially with everything you’ll learn through the classes in the program.
I’d do it this year. I don’t recall much, if any, organic chemistry on the exam. At least nothing like mechanisms etc. that you wouldn’t learn in AP Chem.
Take the AP Chem exam this year.
